Shameless thread revival.
The new episode today was great, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season now. I thought Matt Smith was in fine form; he seemed really comfortable in the role, right from the off.

I loved that first episode. Faultless. Literally, nothing against it. Matt Smith is going to be great, I think all the doubters will be eating their words very soon...
Favourite quote? "You're Scottish, fry something." :D Loved it.

I'm a little wary of the TARDIS redesign. I mean, yes, it's meant to be a little mad, but bath taps? I just hope they don't go down the Sylvester McCoy route...

The typewriter was pretty epic though. And I had a bit of a fanboy moment when he clicked.

Typewriter was awesome. Plus, I did like the clock. Every Time-Machine should have a clock built into the console. =D

My episode scores out of ten so far: 9/7/6/9. Steven Moffat is a terrific, I'm so pleased he's taken over as head writer :D

New guy's hair is so dumb they even made a joke about it on-show.
The episode about the space whale was quite well written, just badly executed. The pan out at the end was so cheesy, but THE WHALE WAS SO CUTE.

The pan out was okay, I thought, because it was interrupted by the crack in the ship. I wonder what those cracks mean?
(Witty person on twitter: "I hope we get to see more of Amy's crack" Ho ho ho.)
Episode 4 was pretty amazing, but 5 had better be more fast-paced, after all that buildup.

I would like the cracks to be something to do with the Time Lock surrounding the Time War. It could be material for some brilliant episodes, explain why Rassilon is back in The End of Time, and also I damn well want some more of [nerdrage] Paul McGann's Doctor [/nerdrage].
I'm also liking the looks of the freeware games they're making to go with the series. They look awesome for freeware, and are in essence proper Doctor Who episodes - the only difference being that these "interactive episodes" are 2 hours long each, as opposed to 45 minutes (and I'm not complaining. =D)

I totally lost track of Doctor Who this year, aside from briefly noting that non-David Tennant wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected/hoped.
Plan to remedy that tonight, this weekend or this summer.
...I did watch part of the David Tennant modern Hamlet though!

I found that really dull but I had just seen an actual live enactment of the play so maybe I was just Hamlet'd out.Nostromo wrote:...I did watch part of the David Tennant modern Hamlet though!

I watched only the most exciting scene of the play. But I would still take Mel Gibson's version.Duchess of Awesome wrote:I found that really dull but I had just seen an actual live enactment of the play so maybe I was just Hamlet'd out.Nostromo wrote:...I did watch part of the David Tennant modern Hamlet though!

Loved the new ep, btw. Rollicking pace, and Matt Smith is amazing and has the best hair and I think I am going to start to dress like him.

New Series 6 part 2 trailer!
This looks pretty amazing; more villains than I'd usually expect from a whole season: Cybermen! Angels! Silence! A Minotaur! Hitler! Aaaaah I can't wait.
EDIT: Return date is scheduled to be 27th August! That's tantalizingly close...
