Terminator Salvation was the worst moive in the series -and one of the worst movie of this year.

I agree with you though.
Tunco you're missing the point, James Cameron did what is considered by quite a lot of people the best movies in a series (Aliens, T1 and T2). He most definitely didn't do salvation.
The movies made after T2 sucks.

Tunco, I have no idea what your sentence means, but I want to make sure you understand that James Cameron has only ever made a sequel to one of his intelligent properties -Terminator 2- and that is vastly considered superior to the original. The only sequel he's made. So bringing up Salvation is moot. Another director (The cripplingly horrid McG) did Salvation. Furthermore, some people have brought up Aliens. Aliens is a perfect example of Cameron's genius because he made a sequel to a film that needed no sequel, changed the formula entirely without ruining the franchise, and made arguably one of the best action movies of all time.

Was Terminator Salvation the latest one? Yeah that really wasn't that great :/

T2 was .. brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Maybe Cameron has a knack for sequels? Like, if he did an Avatar sequel, it'd probably turn out to be the best movie ever made.

I saw T2 the other day; it was good, much better than the first film, but still quite silly in parts. Aliens was much better, imo.

Er, staying on topic though, I haven't seen Avatar yet, but I certainly plan to in the next couple of weeks.

The silliness of T2 is eighty nine percent of it's charm.

I saw Avatar a few days ago on a small regular screen (no 3D). I have to say I was quite surprised at its quality. The story was gripping throughout, even if it might have been a bit predictable. The graphics were just what they needed to be in order to supplement the story; the scenes were impressive, but I did not feel that the graphical quality was the centerpiece of the film. I'm definitely going to try to see it in IMAX 3D when I get back from vacation; I believe I can safely say (I might be forgetting a movie or two) that Avatar is the best movie I have seen.

I been thinking. It's very unusual to me that a film so allegedly beautiful can constantly be referred to as doing fine to supplement a weak plot. Visual beauty is an aspect of cinema that today's film world often forgets in order to tell a better story, but a movie that is technically and visually impressive should be enough, since movies are the only often used video-based artform. There is no forum for somebody to make something visually beautiful and compelling without it being weighed down by a plot, so I consider what Cameron did an achievement by even trying to include a plot.
