Burton's cool, a bit overrated. Depp I could never get tired of.

I like Tim Burton films for the music, largely, and that's almost entirely done by Danny Elfman. Plus Elfman's married to Bridget Fonda and she was Linda in Army of Darkness. So... yeah.

So funny, my favorite part is when the guy gets his own wife's name wrong. (calls her by the actors name)

I wouldn't go that far, it was definitely different. I loved the shots with the magnesium burn for night photography.Tunco wrote:Oh, "Public Enemies" would be in the worst movies list.
The Happening was pretty awful, to the point I actually liked it.

What? Even the subject was pretty decent, execution was pretty bad and constrained. On another note, I laughed at the old woman banging her head to window, that made me laugh for a whole 10 minutes.rocket_thumped wrote:The Happening was pretty awful, to the point I actually liked it.Tunco wrote:Oh, "Public Enemies" would be in the worst movies list.

No, no no. It's a good movie with a very little budget. It is strange though.Heartattack wrote:Paranormal Activity. At no point in that movie was I scared. And when the demon thing dragged her out of bed? I swear that movie was a freakin comedy.

Dude, Speed Racer is criminally underrated.

I like it how when I got to imdb.com and look through all Saw movies from I to VI, the ratings eventually start to drop. :DBroghan wrote:All of the Saw films. Terrible. Just terrible. UGH!
Though the main plot is something that is has never been done before, (speaking of the 1st movie) therefore, they're kinda original and have their own taste of horrow-mystery type, which is cool.

After months and months of reading/hearing so much hate directed at it, I found myself a little bemused. The direction is pretty awful (some real sloppy editing work, too), and the entire thing is just /so/ derivative of the Sin City movie (even though a case could be argued that Frank Miller translated to film in a perfect world would always look just like this as the style is his comics in perfect motion), but I found the film to be quite enjoyable for the most part and managed to sit through it in one viewing (which is rare for me when the general consensus is so poor).
If I had to rate it, I'd be stuck somewhere between a 6 and a 7/10, but this could be because I really did have the lowest expectations I've had for a film for some time.
What did you guys think of it?

I saw it in theaters. I liked some of the visuals, but it was mostly garbage.a happy song wrote:I watched The Spirit last night.

I wonder how much I was affected by the absolutely ground-zero expectations I had for it then....rocket_thumped wrote:

How'd you rate Sin City?

So yeh, Happy Gilmore. If you hate that you'll probably hate it all.
