Just a topic to ask who here likes the show, liked the show, hates, etc. Funimation along with Madman are releasing all seasons of DBZ in proper format, and they have been for some time. They are nearly finished; the original Dragonball seasons are the last ones to be released, funnily enough. Anywho, like the show, don't like it, opinions.

I loved the show when I was younger, and the quality of DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 got me and my roommate into it enough to desire to own said DVD's proper. Unfortunately, the show is surprisingly ass now. Rewatchings of the entire first season revealed an extremely long, boring show, and we've only been able to make any headway completely drunk.

It's a game poster on a hard escape-the-room game I finished in 38:26 minutes and it's a cartoon, ball part is the most effective I guess.

I don't like it. I used to watch it when I was young.

In my second year in college, I made an earnest effort to force myself to watch through several seasons if Dragonball Z.
I could not bring myself to continue past the halfway mark of the first season. It was so mind-numbing that I was almost certain I'm a full dozen or so IQ points lower from that experience.
Now that I read Slaps' post, I'm starting to think alcohol would've helped tremendously. It probably would've prevented my brain from overloading with focus on the awful, and instead let me enjoy it and laugh at the funny asian men with their ridiculous hairstyles.

Sounds like me. Tons of my friends loved it, but I could never get into the show. Maybe it was the plot, or the ridiculous turn-based combat, but I never stuck with watching it past a few episodes.

That being said, I have played whichever combat game was released about it, and have to say that the game is tons of fun with friends around.

The only cool thing about Dragon Ball are the 3 budokai games on the PS2.

Most episodes of Dragon Ball Z are like being tied to a chair while a half-decent looking girl gives you a handjob, only she stops right before climax and walks out of the room.

I'm proud ashamed to say that I own every episode of Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT, and all the movies, as well as most of the games.

I totally just read that as, "I'd hate to be the only black guy stuck using v1.4."

I liked it for about 2 months in 7th grade but I slowly realized how ridiculous it was.

Basic layout of an episode: "IM GOING SUPER SAIYAN!!" Scream for a couple of minutes and cut to a commercial... come back and scream for a bit more. Change scenes multiple times with ominous music playing and show each characters face even if they have nothing to express at the moment. Fly at the opponent in a giant ball of light , they hit one another in slow motion, fly away in slow motion, and finally land in slow motion and slide across the ground... in slow motion. Both people grunt a couple of times while their faces twitch. Then move on to the next episode.

I think it had potential to be a pretty good show.

I was too busy watching the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers to pay any attention to this show. The only cool episode I ever saw of it was when Goku turns into a giant monkey and starts going apeshit. pun entirely intended

I used to watch it as a kid, and it was ridiculously awesome. I remember watching most of the first season and the entire Freiza saga. A month ago I watched the Cell saga, specifically the Gohan vs. Cell parts, on YouTube. The ending was so mindblowingly epic, that it was worth it to wait in suspense for twenty epidodes. and then the series melted into crunchy rabbit poo.
