For those experiencing lag, have you tried using a different browser? (Chrome seems to work better than Firefox)

Hnnnnngh it's running so smoothly now. It's like the ninja is coated in warm butter.

It would be cool if you could change the "level start" key from defaulting to Jump.

I'm occasionally getting a second or so where the framerate decreases slightly and the game speed is a bit slower, but overall, this is beautiful so far. I'll still miss the glitches/tricks from 1.4 though.

i think this should be fixed. in n 1.4 the thwump will "launch" you in that direction. instead in this, as you touch the tile, you die.

Okay, so there my little opinion on the new update. I'll certainly say things that have been already said but whatever, it's because they are important. I hope it will help to improve the beta N 2.0 version.

First of alls there is lot of really cool things like:
- bounceblocks come back to their original position
- drones are in synch
- objects seems still active after beating a level (you don't go through one-ways)
- there's lots of cool new levels
- 2 players mode? hm why not
- episode thumbnails!
- waiting with impatience for "friends system" and all

BUT there's also the :-/ things...

Firstly, yes the new game levels are nice but where the hell are all the crazy chainguns, funky lasers and surprising trapdoors?? I finished the entire game (in the first public beta) and i honestly don't remember any chainguns... This is quite sad.
It's true that the entire game is quite easy but it isn't a problem for me, userlevels will always be there for insane difficulty! The problem is variety. There's lots of cool ideas in level design, pretty minimalism and particulary nice drones paths, but I feel like there is a whole part of the game i didn't experienced.

Then about the visual aspect:

For me he's totally right and this really disturb me, I zoomed at the maximum on a gold piece and it seems that the lower right corner pixel is missing. Only 1 pixel, but when you have the normal game size it looks a lot bigger.
Also i really hope that in the downloadable version you will be able to set the game in fullscreen depending of your screen resolution and that it wont make "background lines" like it does on n 1.4, or any visual bugs on the objects/enemies/tiles.

And some gameplay bugs/change that make me sad:
- between mines jumps are easier, but maybe it will offer new mappings direction? I've no idea if this is a good thing.
- i didn't manage to make any lower corner bounceblock jumps (but this is maybe still possible??)
- when you jump agains't a wall (withouth wallsliding) and then jump again when you reach the upper corner/ceiling, it doesn't send you diagonaly like it should...
- corner jumps that project you further than classic jumps seem a lot harder to get (or maybe impossible?)

Also if I correctly understand the last blog post it says that there will be not free object placing possible? or does it just means that z-snapped objects in n 1.4 will be translated as snapped in n 2.0? Free object placing is really cool and allow loads of mapping tricks, don't delete that.

Things that would be amazingly cool if implemented:
- a 64 levels mode, exactly like in the christmass challenge. It would also enhance the difficulty for those who find the game too easy.
- possibility to create your own episode/column considered as such by the game.
- being able to place floorguard on half tiles.
- FBF demo editor with the possibility to restart your demo from a certain point.
- I've also this secret dream that you add the N+ tiles and enemies that don't exist in N... but yeah, lots of work i guess.

So i think i've said everything i wanted. Thanks if you read all and sorry if i say stupid things...
Anyways there's already lots of cool new things in N 2.0 that worth the change, and it definitely is one the most beautiful new year's gift possible. Thank you.

Thats not new, we already rambled about that a lot back in 2010 when we knew the tricks were gonna dissapear. They are impossible, you can jump on corners, but thats not cornerjump, since it doesnt propell you farther, its just a regular jump off a corner. I didnt try any bbbwj, but Im confident they are also deleted in the new physics engine. Sorry to dissapoint. I didn't notice bb's come back to their original spot always, not sure I like that.

Btw, you can tick on the ms/f counter with caps locks on (somebody asked but I dont rememebr who).

posted this on IRC too, posting here.
i was in the "episode select screen" when i clicked fast something and jumped on the user episode. i played through u0-0 to u0-4 (awesome levels btw, they play so good with this smoothness), when i got back to menu this appeared

note: some of the 60 column episodes just disappeared, have no idea why. i tried to replicate this bug but without success.

ok guys, here's what i got.
as you can see, you can select episodes with arrows. i got to 99 and then to the user column (it's still hidden), but now i can play through it (even without completing the game, have no idea why).

here's a pic (the miniatures are user levels as you can see)

I fixed the lag. The problem was that I wasn't giving Firefox priority for memory usage. Also, pressing Caps Lock shows the ms/f, woooo! But maybe you can move it to the bottom right side. Are you planning to make a speedrun mode?

Apart from 2-3 maps that shall not be named that I did not enjoy at all, that userlevel column was incredibly beautiful. I almost cried when I saw maximo's plue. That map is the shyeet.

I too can see the user-levels without a complete version of the beta, but I can't play any of them. Can you please explain exactly how you managed to do that?

When you can see the previews of the levels, press space.

Edit: it's actually the key you've bound to "sel" in the settings.

currently playing through the secret column, will review after i've finished (edit: finished now. map selection looks good, last 2 episodes were the best, but could still do with being even harder. i know it's just a placeholder, but it looks like the right idea)

i don't know whether anyone's noticed this yet or pointed it out, but THEY'VE FIXED TRIPLE JUMPS NOW :D

they're still harder than in v1.4, but not by much, it's about hitting the right frame at 60fps instead of 40

still no corner jump fix though :(

edit: also you can still use the electric bit of thwumps for propulsion as you can in v1.4, but not the non-electric bits like mercuri mentioned

Yeah I did notice triples, they are way easier than in the Contesque, although still feel different from 1.4 (but doesnt matter since being consistent is the most important part :D). Im glad they coded them, next things should be cjs.
Although you have way more than 1 right frame to press the jump key; in fact, only the hardest cjs on 1.4 had a single frame range, which, at 60fps, would be hella hard.

Just so you're aware, we've currently got (Untitled) and ultimate enema by you in the first column with "pyramid, east face" and "livers at dawn" also currently potential candidates for the 2nd user column. Interesting fact: you currently share the 2nd most amount of maps with 4 in the user-made selection pool with yahoozy and tktktk.

Edit: you can also use the aforementioned "cheat" to bypass completing the game to play the bonus levels...

Just so you're aware, we've currently got (Untitled) and ultimate enema by you in the first column with "pyramid, east face" and "livers at dawn" also currently potential candidates for the 2nd user column. I just did this on 19-2 "dance", so at least under the current beta, it is possible! :D Edit: Never mind, that was an upper corner bbj.

Also, I have five maps so far, but bear in mind, that that was Mare and Raigan's list, not mine. I'd chalk it up to the fact that a lot of my maps are Metanesque, not because they are quantifiably better or anything... I would be happy to have yahoozy's "hip" instead of my "drearily" for instance.
