So I've been using the board's default skin now since joining, and it seems that's now chanced from that tacky horrible purple eyesore into this Retronet thing... which is a vast improvement as it looks so much nicer now. However I'm having one issue with this skin is the page width when using a high screen resolution - it's just huge. The only way to really appreciate the skin is to make the window smaller and not view the forums in full-screen.
I don't know if anyone else finds this annoying or not, but personally I think it would be far better if the board had some sort of width limit of maybe 1200px or so.

I'm guessing that's for Firefox only? I don't use Firefox, it doesn't work properly with my uni's Internet.

What's the resolution of your screen?
Mine's 1280x1024, and I just use my browser windowed.

1920x1080. I'm happy using it windowed, I'd just prefer not to... And I don't see it being that much of a problem adding a limit of sorts.

I think it's fine as is, I would like it to not change for everyone. Whatever browser you're using, find an alternative that can let you set up user styles and do so... I hardly think it's fair that everyone should have to have their retronet change when they also might like how it is already.

I have a suggestion, too. Two of them, actually.
It would be good if the default "username" and "*********" disappeared when I put my cursor into the username/password field. Also, post dates would be very appreciated.

Post dates are in the bottom right corner of every post.EdoI wrote:I have a suggestion, too. Two of them, actually.

Mhm, it's taken me a while to get used to where the post dates are; but that's no big deal as I'm used to it now (as I'm sure most members are).Spawn of Yanni wrote:Post dates are in the bottom right corner of every post.

I also have a suggestion for retronet, whilst this thread is floating around. When you receive a PM, the sender's avatar and all that stuff that is on the left of a post is positioned at the bottom right. And it's pretty ugly. If it was moved to the top left, like in a post, it would be much neater and more consistent with the layout of the skin.

Probably because the skin originally had avatars on the right globally, but that was changed pretty much immediately. In general with these things it's best to go directly to incluye on IRC to see if he can spare some time.Destiny wrote:I also have a suggestion for retronet, whilst this thread is floating around. Mind, that sounds like a relatively intensive revision to the skin for a pretty arbitrary reason, so don't be too surprised if things stay as they are.

I think it auto-highlights on Firefox; not IE, of course.EdoI wrote:It would be good if the default "username" and "*********" disappeared when I put my cursor into the username/password field.

Just a general question: Am I the only one who has a bit of difficulty distinguishing between pinned and unpinned topics? It might be better to have a layout similar to the old one, where the pinned ones would be up high, separated from the rest of the topics by a header.
Just for the sake of organization. Other than that, I quite like the skin, it's very clean.

I don't know if this is possible with phpBB, but if someone would implement the new icons I posted it would be a lot clearer. *cough cough*Might wrote:Just a general question: Am I the only one who has a bit of difficulty distinguishing between pinned and unpinned topics? Mm. At quick glance the Pinned icon looks a lot like the Hot Topic icon.
