I've noticed for a while now that Opera crashes from time to time when viewing the forum. I'm pretty sure this is caused by a bug in the changing image at the right of the banner.
I don't know if it's a specific image, or bugged piece of code that causes it, but every time the browser crashes there isn't an image shown at the top.

I've been on 10.10 for ages without any problem on the forums. Did you just change to 10.50?

I've had the problem since November-ish last year, just after changing the forum skin, so it's not a version issue I don't think.
The freeze isn't instant; when it happens I can scroll up and down for around 15 seconds but have no control of anything else, then it just closes itself and pops up an error report.

The new version of Opera just came out yesterday, so I wonder if switching to that would work anyway.

I'll give it a try. I can sometimes go days without a single crash though, so I might not be reporting back for a while.
Edit: I can't really test it. I think the new Opera disagrees with the setup of my uni's network - its running incredibly slow.

Maybe Opera has problems with images that don't look like image files--that background image is actually a file called random.php which serves image data.

Jesus Christ, that's awesome.

EDIT: I don't want it to be temporary. At all.
