Here are few suggestions that I think would make the forum much easier to use:

I suggest a possibility for a topic starter lock the thread.
I also suggest a quick search (with 'Advanced options' below).
This has been already suggested, and I miss it - quick reply.
Fields for logging in on every page, not just the index page. That way the login button on the top could be removed.

That would make it way too easy for someone to make a declaritive statement (probably about NUMA dying) and then locking the thread to avoid discussion. We'd get masses and masses of spam. Bleh.

Erm... personally I've never found any use for a search bar, even on massive forums like Halo3Forums and shiz. The current model on Chrome is fine imo.

Yeah, fast reply is kickass. I probably wouldn't use it most of the time, but it's a great idea for other members.

Why? Wouldn't massive login fields be way more intrusive than a login button? Besides that, I'm pretty sure everyone who's not a paranoid schizophrenic has it on auto-login.

Was only restricted to the Metanembers of yore. Will probably not be resurrected, unless only for staff in any forum.

Not necessary, Chrome's version is fine, and I found very little use for search

Will probably appear at some point in the future.

The login button at the top is the field for logging in on every page.

Well, I connected two of my computers on the Internet, so I sometimes have to login.

If you didn't notice, there already are login fields at the bottom of the index page. I don't see a problem in having them on every forum page, also on bottom.

We can't do anything if you are lazy enough to click few links and login.

That would be very annoying.
And would be useless.

Hmm...
Look at this forum. Press the search button (you'll see how nice the thing works), and take a look at the quick login fields I'm talking about. You call that annoying? Really?

But there is no need to, to 'that'. Current layout is just doing fine.

Need? Well, if we're about to talk about our 'needs', then we could easily remove sigs, post counts and any of the profile information, nice-looking skins... We don't really need that, right?

If I remember correctly, we had all of these (except possible quick search. Not quite sure what you mean by that) feature on the old forum. (Though you had to have 750 posts to lock your own topic). Not sure why they died with the new forum, but I never even really thought about them except for the locking your topic until now.
ExüberNewsFeed: Exuberance is mostly <AFF> (Away From Forums) for a while, though I may still participate in epic contests/threads. When I return, I shall bring several comic updates (enough to finish season 1) and hopefully 1 or 2 games- at least one of which is N-related
Comic Activity-O-Meter: (how often I'm updating my comic)
(Click here to see what each level and half-level means in terms of updates per time period)

NOTE: If I just add a bunch of comics in one day, but plan on going back to normal after that, I probably won't update the status.
+ Dead: Canceled. Done. Maybe you'll get a random comic like once a year, but it's pretty much done.
- Zombie (Dead/Comatose): The comic is probably done regular updates forever, but I'll probably still add something once in a blue moon. It's still POSSIBLE, that I'll raise the status up, but not very likely. Maybe I'll have a comicplosion for like a week, then go back to being dead
+ Comatose: Complete stand-by. No (or very few) updates for some amount of time, but the comic's far from being over
- <AFK> (Comatose/Loitering): Stand-by, but you might possibly count on a few updates once and a while. Again, this is temporary
+ Loitering: Like comatose, but for short amount of times.
- Turtling (Loitering/Semi-Active): Really slooooww updates
+ Semi-Active: One every 2 weeks...ish?
- Quasi-Active (Semi-Active/Active): Averaging about 2 comics every 3 weeks
+ Active: Loosely defined status, but about a weekly update
- Over-Active (Active/Power-leveling): About 2 comics a week
+ Power-leveling: About 3 comics a week. Possible a schedule, possibly not
- Über-Epic (Power-leveling/COMICPLOSION!!): In some cases, this may actually be mean updates more frequently than COMICPLOSION!!, but I'm defining this level as a non-organized comic rush, kind of like a few days after my comic started
+ COMICPLOSION!!: Daily updates for a minimum of 5 days (since the daily updates started. It remains at this status until the 5, 7, whatever days are done)

The old quick search was located at the top right of the forums. For the volume of content on this website, I highly doubt you'd need to search that often.

If would like a topic to be locked, contact a moderator (through PM or IRC). There are at least a couple online at any given time, so there should be no hassle there.

It used to be 750 = metanember. Then it became on choice by the mods + admins. It's always been a metanember privledge.

metanembers and legacy elite lost almost all of their privledges with the rise of the new forums, however.
