Whatever this is, you're most certainly in on it. The ficus comment was too much a combination of randomness and crypticness for things to be otherwise.

Edit: From what I gather on the internet, it seems that ficus bloom all year and throughout the year, repeatedly. The passing bit seems like something about time, or the seasons, or something of the sort. Am I actually onto something?
