Just in case you wanted a follow-up, there's a reason that Ventrilo was down and the maximumvoice.com server could not be accessed by the administration of Ventrilo:

"Thank you for everyone's patience. Yesterday our network fell victim to aggressive attacks by militant hackers. We are in the process of making a full recovery. Ventrilo systems that were effected by yesterday's attacks are coming back online. It may take us well into tonight before all of these systems as well as the maximumvoice control panel have been fully restored. Please bear with us, we are moving as quickly as we can. We will open up our usual support channels once more as soon as the restore is completed (hopefully in the next 24 hours)."

Dang, man. Aggressive attacks by militant hackers are so much worse than laconic attacks by half-assed hackers.

Ventrilo is not (intended to be) a text chat service (fuck you, Yahoozy). It is entirely unrelated to IRC.

^I believe he was asking if the address (ip in this case) of the server is constant.

Answer: yes, in theory, just get on IRC and ask what the ip is if you can't connect

I swear that even those this corresponds with an extended absence from Ventrilo, I had nothing little to do with this.
