Could we bring back the note pad we had on the forumer forum? I've thought a couple times recently that it would be nice to have for something I couldn't get to at the time, but would like to do later.

Which doesn't store the notes portably, unlike the forums would (think of using a computer at school to store the note, then accessing the note from home, or vice-versa).

It would be very cool if we had our
own file sharing web site,
only for Metanet.
Google Docs, is, too public.

Yes, but it still can be private.

Well we do have
our own pastebin, if you didn't know. That's quite similar to Notepad, if you ask me...

It's not really needed, there are numerous things around the web that do the same thing. Notepad is portable, just save the file into your USB Drive and away you go. Google Docs is private, because you have to log into your account. Then for those iPod Touch/iPhone users there's the Notes app. Or you could use something like
Evernote.

You can also simply upload the file on some of the numerous file hosting services. Or, you can come to the forum, and send a private message to yourself, with the text, or a file as an attachment...

For school students, that's probably the most commonly blocked form of communication/storage on the Internet. Unless you'd prefer to use your school email.

Who is so opposed to using their school email that they wont use it, even when they need it?

Get a really cheap flash drive and store text files. There's really no need for the text storage to be Metanet-exclusive if it's private anyway.

Write on your hand. If its too long, write the URL to a pastebin n your hand.

And apparently there are easier ways to store knowledge than writing it in a god damn notebook.
And internet is a way of it. You
can't lose it.

Why take notes? You're just going to forget it anyway.

I've just done this since I needed it, and it worked perfectly.
1. Click on the "Profile" button below any of your posts.
2. When you go to your profile, go on the "Private Mesage" button under the contact section.
3. Put any text you want stored, and post the message.
4. Refresh.
5. You've got 1 new message.
If you find it easier, you can also go to your inbox, start composing a new message, put your text and send it to yourself then.

I remember when there was briefly a IRC/AIM like thing that was actually connected to the forums at the bottom, is that what you're talking about?
