In lieu of the administrators' giving up of nearly all aspects of the community, SlappyMcGee--the forum's most active contributor, by post count and post length and overall consistent effort--has been promoted to Global Moderator.
We all gave up. You didn't. Goddamn, you run the Ventrilo, you make new projects, you start new threads... I regret all the politics that prevented me from placing you as global mod before. You've had this a long-time coming and I regret not hanging out with you like we used to. The only person who offers more to the community than SlappyMcGee these days is LV, and only because he fronted the cash to keep the website alive. I'm ashamed of trying to be the face on what is everyone else's achievement *(see below for details).
When I said to myself "Why haven't I seen LV and Slaps like I used to?", I realized that I gave up in some regards on the community. And the reason that I connected so intimately with the two of you on Ventrilo, on so many occasions, was that inherently I wanted to be part of the community and so did you. I wanted to keep that going. Make it survive. SlappyMcGee, and LV for that matter, know this community better than I do. They know the people and the events. And when I said "Where are these guys?", I mostly meant "Where am I?" Where have I gone? What am I doing now? With The Real N, that's very little. And with everything else, pretty little stuff, too.
So, yeah, again: Whenever you ask "Where are they now?", know that they left. They're not doing shit for you anymore. And keep the faith. Ignore their absense and help out like you can.
*And I'm also tired to think of myself and my projects as "The Real N". Honest to Christ. To think all these exemplary Dave projects went here. My creative property on a website about everything else. Just thinking about all that effort and creativity wasted bothers me. Space Pimp could have been something. My comics could have been something. And this bizarre and innovated bureaucracy--the kind I railed against in my formative forum years--sucked me into getting nothing done once I'd gotten everything done.
Lesson from a friend: If you get good ideas, take them elsewhere. Just talk about shit here. Talk about life, enjoy yourself, find new games, schedule new games. Check with Pops, he's always got the newest games around here. And that's what we used to be about. Not waiting on Dave hand-and-foot to churn out profitless product. You'll make more out of your life, certainly, if you avoid this fate.
Love and kisses, good luck being the new global, SlappyMcGooose;
Dave.
