Some of you have started to choose obnoxiously large avatars.
This is annoying. Knock it off.

Offenders will have their avatars replaced with Justin Bieber, and have their permissions to change it revoked (vis. heartattack).
Your avatar will remain Justin Bieber until such time as it stops amusing me.

I can't seem to do anything right today. My avatar choosing and grammar skills definitely need improvement if I hope to get off Bieber probation anytime soon.

Isn't the site coded so there is a maximum size an avatar can be anyway?

I think you should do the Justin Bieber thing for video avatars, too. I don't know about you, but those drive me insane.

The size limit was raised to 256 by 256, then someone raised it to something like 1000x1000.

Incidentally set the default avatar for new users to be just bieber?

i say if it makes the forum stretch itself out, then yes.

Depends on resolution. But I doubt (m)any one/people still use 1024x768 or smaller, exception of netbooks and phones.

Personnally big signatures annoy me a lot more than big avatars. It's very irritating when you have to scroll down 5 sec. just for seeing a guy say sentences like "i totally agree !"...

I think 200x200 is about as far as you can go without stretching the default border.

I find it a lot easier just to hide avatars because then I don't have to get that massive lag whenever I scroll down and Chrome dev channel tries to render Pavel's animated avatar.

Do my animated avatars really lag anyone else?
