Look at Nv2.0 bugs and glitches thread and read details about "save delay bug."thejumper£#! wrote:Now i'm working on 2 maps, one is "Tremors"(film) inspired, and another has one big, giant, carnivorous plant! :D
BUT I have a big problem with the editor, sometimes, i lost all the data about a map, I remain with the empty level!!!
Some tips?

thejumper£#! wrote: Thanks, but this map does not have a nice design, I made it in a short time and I have prepared only the difficulty of the jumps and the route, I don't like unnecessary mines around. Is an unfinished work, I had to make her more beautiful. P.S.I live quite a bit south of Milan, in the hills...
Jumper- lol cool :) referring to a map as a 'she'. Oh well, I like the cluster's of mines instead of tiles, the only bit I didnt like much is I thought there were too many similar tricky jumps (even tho u had some cool thwump jumps in it). It looks like autumn too! I also really liked this yesterday's map by Nutballs http://www.thewayoftheninja.org/nv2.html?l=17995 (search for ' !!!! ' ) -just a simple pick a route and run it map, by it also has a substitute for tiles.
PS. About save delay bug when making maps -if you're making a long map, press page down (in the save map menu (as it shows you)) and save the map as text periodically, that way you can be sure.
ghjijhg -I guess my definition of natural is something which has harmony but you cant see the whole pattern (eg. a sense that there is more beyond, you're just looking at a fragment of a vast world) plus complexity. Thanks I didnt know about the videos, I watched some and were better than I would've thought, I have a lot more 'starting over again' when I make my maps. So I guess its common to make a rough idea of some shapes then add complexity

So far, my other maps really suck; but those seem to be drawing high amounts of attention, care to take a gander at it?

Thanks, and yes, some jumps are too similar.james_S wrote: Jumper- lol cool :) referring to a map as a 'she'. (and lol in italian "it" does not exist like in english, only "he" and "she", sometimes i make confusion, map is a "she")
Thanks, I have now discovered that i need to save in "unicode" from notepad, I had saved backups ("ANSI") but when I open the file does not work any more.james_S wrote: PS. lol, yea I like 'Tremors' a lot. Only thing I can think of changing is- the gates closing off the gold and exit switch, cause I don't think they look like they belong in that er 'soil' bit (the bounce blocks). Instead you could use 'one way panels' so you'd have to unlock new gates to get back up to the exit?thejumper£#! wrote: Tremors w.i.p. is: http://www.thewayoftheninja.org/nv2.html?l=11992

And maybe more tiles surrounding the exit button (preventing all the zap drones charging at you at once) instead of the block gates you used
Panstromek - talking about idiots in N game, what the hell was up with Finister12? Like he doesn't know that there's only 25 pages of saved 'popular maps'. And stupidly moaning about Maxwell not deserving his stars. Probably just attention seeking. Btw I published a copy of your drone forums map

I'm gonna d'd my next map to you, except I cant think of an idea.. I'm trying to make a ''Broken Britain'' map (due to the economy and other problems) in that shape.
Btw feel free to make use that Hole map idea I mentioned here as I havent managed to make it still.
Its not a bug those diaognal one way panels- I bought the add on online for $5.99 but I dont approve cause its not fair some mappers would be able to have them and some not, so I wont be using them again.
EDIT: Panstromek your Fusion map www.thewayoftheninja.org/nv2.html?l=12264 is like in the style of (your home town?) Prague, if you imagine the fancy roofs :D Do you get to go the cafes and pubs in the old town much? Must be awesome if not too expensive to go anywhere. -My mum lives quite near Tower Bridge (London) and you can enjoy the jollly touristy atmosphere on the weekends if u go for a walk.

Diagonal oneways are implemented on the game code but for some reason they are not on the editor, you can put them manually by code as far as I know. I haven't created any map and I haven't used the editor so I don't know whats the way, you mappers probably know better.

I think we should generally try to avoid making posts that contribute nothing to the conversation or that are nothing but a single image, and certainly we should avoid making posts that are both, like this one. It's not a big deal but if we let our standards slip too much then these forums could very quickly devolve into memetic shitposting nonsense, and we're better than that.M4xwell wrote:

ps Mappers, remember if you wanna put a block gate switch in an exit button add a gate opening switch as well, because its possible to miss the block gate switch from under a bigger exit button but not under a gate switch. Or think of a way to make going straight through it unavoidable.
Like your Insanitarium M4xwell -bit like pinball (only downside, some of the bouncers (jumppads) are useless not incl those which act as obstacles). I think you could make a good pinball map :)

HAHA :). I go to some of pubs in old town. You must just know where to go. Many of them are really unnecessary expensive. My favourite one is built in appartment in 4th floor in some house in the centre. You must ring and then they open you the door. In Czech rep. it is bit different, we hate tourists :).james_S wrote:EDIT: Panstromek your Fusion map http://www.thewayoftheninja.org/nv2.html?l=12264 is like in the style of (your home town?) And where are the diagonal oneway panels, you're all reffering to? And anyone know how to code them? if not, I will try it somehow. EDIT: ok I made it through code but in editor is red X on it. What does it mean? :)

The first two are good. However, moving around in the third one is annoying. The ninja could have more mobility.

Any idea how to fix the third one up? I mean, it's SUPPOSED to look/be like that format, but i'm not sure if it's possible...ghjijhg wrote:The first two are good. However, moving around in the third one is annoying. The ninja could have more mobility.

Longer/less frequent jumps. Try that and see if it works. Make sure you save a copy, though, just in case you do something wrong.M4xwell wrote:Any idea how to fix the third one up?
