N++ is very limited in comparison to what many of us are used to from NUMA - no comments, no ratings, etc. The only way a mapper can tell that players appreciate their work is through the number of ++'s they recieve - so please be generous with your favouriting!

If you think an author shows potential - give them a follow! I know that as a regular mapper I'm hoping to gather a few dedicated players that I can rely on appearing in my scoreboards. I'm sure many others are the same!

Also with this being a brand new game and bringing in a lot of brand new people, the mapping community is probably not up to par with what you're used to from NUMA if you're a vet. Let's show them what us old timers have learned and what this game is really capable of! Yes the editor is rather clunky and has a few bugs right now, but you will find that you adapt to the changes relatively quickly. Stick it through! I'm sure we will be getting patches with bugfixes/QOL improvements for the editor soon.

I have to admit, some of my most polished maps seem to have no plays, no likes and no follows. I think we just have to accept that the community, as of now, is either partially dead, or just hasn't picked up enough steam yet (see what I did there?) to reach the critical mass of activity. I'm personally betting on the latter. I see lots of great maps with very little attention, so I don't take it too seriously.

What must sting even more for those of us who spend ages playtesting and polishing a map to get it ignored is that the "Best maps" page is filled with weird stuff that doesn't even seem to have a lot of ++s, or look particularly good. One of the ones near the top is just the words "titties and ass" spelled out in blocks and had one like. HOW DID IT GET THERE?!

I suspect the community will take time to get off of the ground, and M+R will need time to experiment and tweak around the way maps are broadcast and/or promoted in-game. But right now, it's kinda dead around here :(

Remember when we were trying to squeeze every last drop out of N? Remember teleporters, glitched thwumps and ghost drones? Locked drones that didn't move? Well, I found a map with diagonal one-ways, something that could be super useful, and nobody seems to give a damn.

So I want to know, where is the passion? Just give it time, I guess. N++ is such a great game, but the community was a vital part of N. Let's just hope N++ gives it the jolt of power it needs to bring it back to life :)

I think a lot of people are probably like me and will play through all the metanet stuff before anything else. With the amount of content available I'm sure it will take a while for most people interested in user levels to get to them - I'm not even close to done with 100% and I was the second person to all-gold all episodes.

I'll start highscoring metanet levels when I reach 100% and probably won't ever play user levels much but you get the idea

Very good point. I am sort of the same, though for me there is, in the extreme endgame, a gradient of diminishing returns. I'm currently going for the best run I can do on the entire main game (regular, legacy and intro), then I will probably start looking at highscore routes and trying to better my episode scores. Then it's on to the super secret challenges and crazy maps. No doubt I will carry on till the bitter end, but my playing of the Metanet content slows down dramatically at this point. To just slog it out on super tough challenges would be exhausting. The level editor is great for finding levels to just blow off some steam or face a new challenge that isn't going to mentally scar you.

I can't remember when in the original N's campaign that I started making user levels, but I believe I completed the entire game first.

I've personally stopped playing the game because the editor is broken and I don't have the energy to deal with the workarounds any more.

I'm guessing since it's been nearly 2 months now that it isn't going to get fixed so, I guess i'm gone.
