A very simple but a debatable question, which one do you think is easier, clapping or snapping?

I think snapping is useful because you just use your one hand, but clapping makes a lot more noise than snapping. Therefore, I think clapping is easier to do, and more useful.

On the other hand, have you encountered a person that cannot snap his / her fingers? Just asking because today I read in somewhere that most of the population can't snap their fingers, especially adults. :/

Clapping is by far easier, and you are more likely to be called upon to clap, rather than snapping your fingers.

They serve for totally different purposes most of the time, so there's no best :(

(although snap is stylish)

EDIT: wait wait wait

Snap was *my* idea.

I have never met anyone who did not know how or was unable to clap. Myself, I cannot snap. Clapping is easier.

Quite recently I realized that I can snap with my thumb paired with any of my fingers. Which gives me options.

I have a friend that can roll his snaps across his thumb from little to index finger. if he alternates quickly on both hands, it sounds like a machine gun.

But yeah, of course clapping is easier. if you flailed around randomly in a chair, you'd probably make a few clap sounds just like that.

I can snap, and I can clap. As Donfuy said, they are usually used for different purposes...so one's not really better than the other.

After reading flaggamuffin's and 179's posts, I'm learning how to snap like that. I'll be snappin' like a bandit soon enough.

An I agree with Pinto Beans, snapping and clapping are used for different purposes. Though snapping is more stylish, and I've snapped in place of clapped a few times.

I couldn't snap until I was in high school. Even now, I barely can. Clapping is by far easier, louder, and more efficient anyway.

easier or more stylish?

Clapping is by far easier than snapping. Even babies can do it.

Snapping is cooler though, its quiet. Not a very good reason though, because bird whistling while holding your hands together & blowing between the small hole between your thumbs (cant really explain it, but it sounds like a bird) is cooler than snapping. Especially in the middle of a teachers lecture.
