iPhone 4G?

As you've probably already heard, Gizmodo got their hands on a potential iPhone prototype, and it seems to be the real deal. The blog seems to do a decent job of taking down the myths that this is a ploy on behalf of Apple (unless they're in on it GASP), or that this is just a fake. Honestly, I hope it is the new phone, because it looks way better than the model out right now. This also gives me hope that a new iPod Touch model will be following suit, despite that I just purchased one three months ago. Readysetdiscuss.

Gizmodo are twats. They got that poor guy fired, and probably blacklisted from every major tech company.

And they don't even care.

Oh, come on. Gizmodo especially so. They straight up named the guy with seemingly no qualms about it?

The handling of this by Gizmodo has been so fucked up that I'm inclined to believe that this is just a hype strategy between them and Apple.

Yeah, it was kind of a dick move on their part to release the guys full name. I mean Apple would've figured it out anyway (I'd be willing to bet Steve Jobs can remotely brick his employees as easily as his phones), but I don't think the public really needed to know his name. However, it would be almost be a great move for Apple not to fire this guy. After all, Apple employees don't need to be more afraid for their lives than they already are. Not to mention that the guy in question probably has useful information he could take to competitors should he get the axe.

The entire story seems set up, in my opinion.

That's exactly what I thought.
I saw this, and I immediately thought, "Too good to be true, Apple has finally had their veil of secrecy ripped to shreds".
And then I remembered that most too good to be true things are not real.

I think it's real, even though Gizmodo is obviously and horribly bought by Apple all the time.

Some theories:
A) Engadget is trying to steal Gizmodos thunder, fails miserably.
B) Both companies are full of shit
C) Apple is fucking with us all, "misplacing" various iPhone 4G "prototypes"

I hope that is the new design, I've been holding off buying one for a while as I dislike the aesthetics of the 3G and this new model suits me perfectly.

If they make non-fully-rounded edges (like in the pic) I'm going to buy it.

I generally like the design of the new one, but of course with Apple's dictatorship over the app store, I'd either jailbreak or get a Droid Incredible...
