Because if there aren't any big issues, that just makes everything go BORING. Not to say that these forums are boring.
Well, as for Metanemberism, deleting own posts in a topic such as "Serious Discussion" was/is a really big problem if the user is irresponsible. But a series of "casts" instead of post count is a good idea. Not to change the topic.
