An internship is probably the absolute best thing you can do in college.
I did not do any internship and I still regret it, having absolutely no job experience has slowed me down very much.

I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Science and I've had no luck getting a great job since last December. I've worked at a few crappy places and they have gotten experience for me, but that's about it.

Right now I am working as a part-time instructor at a business college (in fact I'm at work right now making a post on an internet forum).
It is great for a resume but it pays next to nothing.

So good luck with your internship.

I'm currently doing freelance web design work from home. It pays fairly well.

Same here.

I've had a job for about 3 months now! I'm working at a company that installs under floor heating. I know, it's a long way from what I wanted to do, or from what I did in my degree, but it's something. I'm in an office doing all the computer related things such as the design of the pipe layouts for the floors, designing flyers and basically trying to redesign the company and market it.
It's a pretty cosy job. The only people in the office are me and my boss, who isn't actually there that much. So I don't really do that much. But it's a job, its computer work and roughly CAD related. Easy work, and not bad pay either for the little amount of work that I do. I'm on about £1400 a month. Far better than being unemployed. ^_^

Kinda explains my lack of activity recently too. Combination of working and living at my own place now means that I spend less time on my PC than I ever have before. :(

I'm an intern at a local nonprofit's (Free Geek) thrift store. I also freelance in design and writing.
