How can something be the most most big? First of all it adds unnecessary words, secondly it doesn't mean anything more.

Or have we come to the point where exaggerating with a superlative is so common that we need to add a 'most' to indicate that there is no exaggeration; that it really was the biggest snake they had ever seen?
