QFE'd. But if there's really no future discussion in sight, the mods shouldn't even need to lock it. The conversations here are self-monitoring. Metanembership was a social caste created under the auspices that a forum can't run itself. And I think it can.
Good points, both. I've got a lot of faith in this new forum as well. I hope everything will be able to work itself out and that we won't have any huge issues.

Because if there aren't any big issues, that just makes everything go BORING. Not to say that these forums are boring.

Well, as for Metanemberism, deleting own posts in a topic such as "Serious Discussion" was/is a really big problem if the user is irresponsible. But a series of "casts" instead of post count is a good idea. Not to change the topic.
