the LHC: its big, expensive, and totally awesome. Shame it broke and got delayed.

I'm mainly adding this because I found this comment on youtube (in relation to the theory that the LHC will create 'strange matter' that will destroy the earth, separate from the black hole theory)
"Too late.  Even before it has finished, the Large Hadron Collider (CERN Experiment) has created the strange moron, which threatens to turn every other thing on this planet into strange morons in a runaway chain reaction."

It's probably the coolest thing to happen since the birth of myself.

I was following this project rather closely, possibly due to the theories and rumours about a possible obliteration of earth, but most likely just because it's one of science's best possible discovery.

The little question mark at the bottom links to a refutation of all the FUD surrounding the LHC.

The formation of strange matter by the LHC is incredibly unlikely given that smaller reactors have reached the energy levels that would theoretically be required for the formation of strange matter, but have never formed any.

I'm gonna do what all the Icelandic politicans do: deny everything.

The whole black hole nonsense was made up almost. Somebody said it to media and then everyone had a fuckfest and spread it around.
