I've seen them on sitcoms, and I've been asked to participate in them in Columbus, fer chrissakes' ("Oh, you're Canadian? Mmm. That's going to be a problem."), but I still have no idea what they are.

In this context 'Timeshare' is referring to a property bought or rented by two or more parties where time spent - in said property, by said parties - is shared out.

They're just money-making scams.

It's a property that you lease during a certain time of year. Someone else leases it during other times. Supposedly, I inherited a timeshare. Don't know where it is.
