I think that in the world we live in today, only certain talents are appreciated. For example, the athletic kids at the school are generally the popular ones, while many talents (such as math, writing, etc.) go unnoticed, or are even noticed in a negative way. I just think we should regonize all the talents that are out there, as the vast majority of them are very beneficial to the world. That's why I'm posting this topic. Feel free to discuss all your talents here, and also the stuff you're not so good at.

I don't know if it's the world you're talking about. I think it's just your schooling.

That's not necessarily true. The examples I used were from school; however, there are plenty of examples in the real world where talents go unnoticed. In either case, I created this topic for people to talk about their strengths and weaknesses; the rest was the reason why I created it.

I see where you're coming from, and I agree to an extent. Professional Athletes are heralded as higher than teachers; Actors held in a higher regard than doctors. But one thing I've learned is that arguing in "Shoulds" and idealisms rarely comes to fruition.

- I used to be good at sports too, but now I'm kinda rusty so I'm only decent now

Not really. It's personality that counts. The exalted at my school were mainly intelligent people who scored well in the VCE, and we're a sporting school. They're well liked because they're kind, witty, and generally good people to be around.

This -would- become a topic for failed musicians to mope about how they're more talented than the guys with record deals.

*I can edit and take photos kinda good.

*I can play decent football, and a little bit of soccer.

Now that I think about it, I can't really do anything much, besides Writing and Math.

I'm most talented in music (electric guitar and singing). I also taught myself (with help of others) to make n maps. :p

The world is big enough, with parts of it open-minded enough, that there are no such thing as an unappreciated talent outside of school. Those are instead talents that people are too stupid to take advantage of.

Gosh, if year 2009 doesn't pan out for us in terms of realising our vision and relating that to a degree of success that we're happy with, you can bet I'll be refining a sense of sardonic wit for my future career as a full time music review blogger.

I am pretty good at lego (already made 7 lego guns, not including the crossbow).
I am a very good sketch artist (drew my dad when I was 12).
I am pretty good at making stuff in Paint.NET.
I can drink liters of Jólaöl without passing out.

Being the somewhat modest person that I am, I'll say composing, and getting along with people (... most of the time). Also, I appear to be OK at drawing comics.

I completely agree with what you're saying, and I'm on your side, too. Everyone has some talents, and deserves recognition for that.

Piano. I'm teaching myself Rachmaninoff's Moment Musicale Op 16. No. 4 after seeing Keron playing it on his blog.
Writing. Fantasy novel in progress that I intend to get published. (and secretely fantasize about become a best-selling author and doing book signings and interviews all over the US and getting millions of dollars.)
Humor. At times.
Abstract sketching.
Photoshopping of all ages.

General intelligence. (It would seem I'm in the top 0.1% IQ demographic in the States...not to brag or anything. :D)
