Amazing Sandstorm In Riyadh, KSA

Well, yesterday Riyadh, KSA was hit by a huge sandstorm. HUGE. It was one of the worst sandstorms we had ever seen. Some people described it as the 'orange tsunami'. I was at school at that time working on a math test. I looked out the window, one second everything was clear, the next second everything blew away and the view became bright orange. Visibility was reduced to just a few metres. It was an amazing sight, at first I thought the apocalypse was upon us!

Today the sand and dust has settled, there were a few cases of asthma in my school, but all is well now.

Apparently it passed by this way while we were asleep. We had a bit of a haze in the morning, but that was all. I saw a photo of it in the local paper (second one in your first link) - it looks surreal.

I hear the Riyadh Airport was closed due to literally "zero visibility".

Absolutely unreal. I saw a video a few years ago of a similar sandstorm at an army base in Iraq - I think there's a link to it from your video, even. I can't even fathom being in something like that.

That is unbelievable. I didn't even know that sandstorms that big could happen.
