[panic]No. Our brush, it is burning. Wont somebody save our brush?[/panic]
I must ask the question on the minds of Australian everywhere... How can we dance when our earth is turning? How can we sleep when our brush is burning?
*crash*

Oh come on, Australia isn't even a real country anyway. What's its population, like, six people and a dingo?

You know, i wouldn't be so adverse to you creating topics all the time if you actually had something to contribute, instead of just briefly describing the issue and then saying "discuss".
I find the tone of this topic to be in poor taste.

I apologize to all the people I have offended by mistyping. Brush fires are things too, so I got them confused.

I think it's only 5 people, and there's definitely some koalas.
Seriously though, I'm glad I moved to NZ last year; I might have got caught in them.

And a kangaroo or two.
I've seen pictures of the fires - they remind me of the fires in California.
By the way, Rikaninja, in the first post, it should be "affected," not "effected."

What he said. Rika, please stop making topics. Do you even live in Australia?

I live on the Victorian border and on Black Saturday we had a bit of a scare, the fire was relatively minor but it did jump containment lines and came to within 5ks of our house, which it could have travelled very quickly if the wind turned.
Me and dad were geared up to fell some of the large pine trees that grow against our walls, but eventually decided it was hopeless. There is nothing that would stop our house burning if a fire came through.

I laughed so hard at this I fell on the floor and hit my elbow on a table. Curses upon your dwelling-place, Tsukatu.
(I did need ice.)

Haha, I hope you realise that's like saying, "There are fires in San Francisco. I hope LittleViking's safe!" Tannar lived 200 km South-West of Melbourne, and now lives in near central Melbourne. The fires are nowhere near him.
Whether or not Atilla was okay would have been a worthier question.
