Things you hate to hear

Everyone has something they absolutely hate hearing from others for one reason or another. Basically, just list any questions/statements that bug you when you hear them.

"How do you play DnD?"
"Have fun at school."
"How much are you selling your cards for?"
"Why weren't you on IRC last night?" (I get asked that every time I miss one day on IRC)
"Websense has blocked this site"
"MISS!"
*trip* "Watch out, there's a(n) <noun> there."

Will have more later.

Since it happened even more recently in person than it did in Debate...

Let me stock up the list.

- Anything involving Lolcat (My 2nd period class is going through a 'phase'. It's not fun.)
- Any form of internet memetic.
- School-wise, "Player-player" (That's a long story.)
- Any joke that is repeated more than twice that is executed incorrectly.
- Slang words. (Though I mock it from time to time by doing it myself.)
- The word 'no' in instances that I want 'yes', and vice-versa.

I probably have more somewhere stored in my mind. Oh, and this:

- "I'm sorry, but your T-mobile account has expired. Please refill your account with a T-mobile To-Go card for more minutes. Thank you. *call ends*"

I mostly get this from my parents, but I absolutely hate it when I'm in the process of doing something and then a person comes up and tells me to do that thing. For example, if I'm taking out the trash and my mom or dad sees me doing so, and then still tells me to take out the trash. That never fails to piss me off.

*1st day of school* - "The classes just started and I already want vacations - HAHAhaha!" or "When do vacations start? *look expectantly at me, totally screaming to the inside "LAUGH"" <- Variations of this.

"Wait wait, what did you just said?" - a friend of mine, some times I say something he totally disagrees (and that he supposedly think it's stupid). Then he says his point of view, it origins a louder discussion. Then I get pissed, and then he gets pissed. Then he says "That's what I dislike in you Donfuy - why are you like that? I don't understand."
I say the same, we get to the conclusion that we are both stubborn, and we start talking about other shit.
Heh, it's annoying.

"...always in the computer... blabla" - Parents
"COME HERE AND LET'S WORK - THERE, GO PICK THAT ROCK AND PUT IT HERE"
"Get off of the computer and go study"
"You have test tomorrow, you know!? You have to study! You have terrible grades! What do you want to be?"

YARRGGHHHH pisses me off.

The n word and the words "faggot/fag." Also, the word "gay" when used as "Man, I got a 63 on that test, so gay."

"Why are you a vegetarian?"

I hate it when people ask me that.

QFE. Christ, my parents are so good at this my sister sees me as some kind of deranged primate.

No, that's not an invitation for you to jump on that :P

Why are you so lazy?
The most common question I hear. I hate that.

QFE. Man, I really hate it when people ask me to 'teach them to play D&D' without knowing ANYTHING about it, and they think it's gonna be a half-hour process. And then I go, 'Okay, take a look at this book and this book and this book to get the basics. Come back if you're still interested.' Then they leave.

Another one that's horrible is 'Why do you still play that stupid game?', which was applied a lot when I was still into Runescape and now when people see me playing N. I'm just sitting there thinking, 'Hey, maybe it's because I enjoy it, dumbass,' but I usually just shrug.

like 2 weeks ago my [fat paki (actually he's Sikh, but the word 'paki' is more explosive to say, I call him that alot, just like he calls me 'cracker' or 'nazi')] friend said "maybe you should change your style" (he was referring to my clothes), and I said, "well, I really don't give a flying fuck what you or any other conformist thinks of me" and he replied "wow, you're gay". I wanted to tear his eyes out right then, but I wasn't willing to be a Cornwall to a Gloucester. It ain't right. strangely enough, the experience inspired me for the topic I ranted on for my english assignment, which was to be like Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal".

"What's up?", when asked by someone walking past you who clearly has no intention of stopping to talk. What the fuck?

Just reply "The opposite of down", like I ALWAYS do.

"This is a security announcement. Please keep your luggage with you at all times. Any unattended items should be reported to a member of staff immediately." Or words to that effect. It's ridiculous. The message is clearly intended for stupid people who leave their stuff lying around all the time. Well, don't make the rest of us listen to it every day on the Underground in London! Once I found myself at a train station where they played that message twice every 8 minutes. AAARGH!

"Four-three-six. To... Lewisham Centre." For those of you who don't live in London, there are little black electronic boxes on every bus which announce the bus number and destination out loud at EVERY bus stop. I don't need to be reminded 17 times on my bus journey.

"Homework." I don't see very much purpose in it anymore. With an exam average of 91% I don't think that most of the homework I am set now has a point. I groan whenever I hear that word. (Who doesn't?)

The Crazy Frog ringtone. Enough said. Especially when I was subjected to it during TV advert breaks.

"0th->*1st 999_Springs" Enough said.

That's the last thing I want to hear when I ask "What's up?"

Heheh. Yeah, here in Portland, every time the bus stops... "Line 4 - Division; to Gresham Transit Center..." It drives me crazy. Although I find the MAX lightrail trains entertaining, because they say something like "This is a Blue-line train" when they stop. I find the "This is a..." form rather humorous. What I find really annoying is when the buses say "If you are standing, please move to the back. Exit via the rear door." or something like that.

I absolutely hate it when people ask me why I know so much, or where I learned something. That REALLY drives me crazy.

When someone asks me what's up, I reply with "The ceiling" or "the sky." Sometimes even a little ol' C&H tribute and say "Nothing anymore."

Seconded.

I also hate when someone wants me to give them my homework or something like that so they can write it, because they were to lazy to it by themselves. Usually I say: "You want me to tell you that I didn't do it neither, that I don't want to give it to you, or shall I pick randomly?" or when I'm in a bad mood I get mad and ask "Why didn't you do it?" and after a stupid explanation I just say "no".

"Do you like fishsticks?"(I don't really hear that one anymore, but if I hear it again, I will be PISSED)

"You would think that."

Most annoying of things. Ugh... patronizing fuckers.
scythe33 wrote:"What's up?", when asked by someone walking past you who clearly has no intention of stopping to talk. What the fuck?
Turn of phrase. What's up is a generic greeting, that once meant something but now just means "Hello." Plus it's fun too say. Get with the times.

You wouldn't believe how fucking mad I get when people call me a paki (I'm Sikh).

"I listened to that band before anyone knew who they were!"

This wouldn't be so annoying if it weren't for the fact that everyone who says it follows it up with how they don't like that band anymore simply because "everyone" likes it now. Nonconformity is stupid when you are doing it for the sake of not conforming. That just makes you a nonconforming conformist.

"You have three new messages. The following message has not been heard. First unheard message."

My voicemail used to do this every time I wanted to listen to a message. Thankfully they have changed it now.

"90% of teens today would die if Myspace had a system failure and was completely destroyed.
If you are one of the 10% that would be laughing, copy and paste this into your signature."

I cringe every time I see that in someone's signature.

Wow. I'd actually put the blame on your end there, buddy.
When people ask me how to play, my usual line is, "think Lord of the Rings, except that you get to choose what they do."
When I'm dealing with newbies, it's a 10-minute job to narrow down the character they want to play and then another 20 minutes at most to walk them through making a first level character and be good to go.
They're called reference materials for a reason. Nobody has ever learned how to speak English by reading the dictionary.
jean-luc wrote:I absolutely hate it when people ask me why I know so much, or where I learned something. That REALLY drives me crazy.
Heh, I've been trying to get into the habit of replying to "how did you do that" with "it's called mathematics, bitch, look it up."
But only for things that have little to nothing to do at all with mathematics, of course.

Agree.
I also hate it when people congratulate me for something they did way better in, and when people say that they are doing something for me when it's obvious that it's not helping me at all.

On a similar note, my friends made me a facebook one time, after I had repeatedly rebutted their attempts to make me make my own, and my mom found out about it. (She's against facebook.) As I was yelling at my friend over the phone to stop being an ass and take my facebook down, my mom came in my room and began yelling at me to take it down. I didn't even fucking want one! Still pisses me off.

Oh, and, whenever I'm reading in a public place, someone will come up to me and attempt to twist my book towards them so they can see what I'm reading. It's a law of the universe.
