I'm more of a medium-rare/medium kind of guy, depending on the place I go to, because one restaurant's medium is anothers rare.

There's no well done option? This poll sucks hairy donkey balls. >:|

I like my steaks medium, sometimes medium well.

Er... that would be the "Well" choice.

EDIT: I fixed it anyway.

Yep. This poll should be thrown out, because "Blue Rare" isn't one of the choices.

Medium/rare. Those two textures together are to die for. Like the cow did for you to eat it. Which is why I'm trying to be vegetarian. But it tastes sooo good.

*faints*

I just cooked chilli steak yesterday for dinner. It's a well done for me, I don't like rare meat at all.

Medium-well. Frankly, I'm surprised I'm the first one to vote that.

I took it medium-rare for bloody years, but a few months ago I switched to rare and haven't looked back.

Well, though I don't mind a little pinkness.

well-done. i act like raw meat could kill me if i touch it. and indeed it always has. actually, i've only had one steak in my life. and it was ok. i think it was rock salt-roasted prime rib. bah, whatever, i don't really like meat.

What backwater third-world mudhole do you live in?
America imports nothing but Grade A meats. In all my undercooked steak-eating (and I've done a heck of a lot), I've never gotten any parasites.

That's a Holstein - they don't ranch those for meat often, they're milkin' cows. Killin' cows are usually Angus or Herefords. they don't have the iconic black/white coat, they're black or red. Herefords usually have a white head.

EDIT: Oh, right. the steak thing. I like mine medium well - properly cooked, but not too much.

If it has "well" in it, you've already lost 90% of the taste potential.

Besides, I don't think steaks are usually the problem. Burgers and other ground beef dishes can be potentially bad for you if undercooked because it's all mixed together, whereas a steak can be fine cooked rare because it kills the outside germs, which is where most of them usually are.

Medium-well. I didn't like rare all that much in the first place, and cheapass college steaks which bleed all over the rest of my meal have done little to improve my opinion.

Kind of juicy, but definitely cooked. Medium I'd say. Kind of a little less cooked than the 'pink stripe' stage. I tried well-done for a while, but it made the meat tougher and less flavoursome, so I left that behind

I like mine best from Medium Rare to Medium Well, depending on how I feel.

Rare is just...bleh.

Steak is awesome nonetheless, though.
