Weird to think he died. Apparently he was found in his home not breathing, in full cardiac arrest. Just announced he is dead. Strange.

If this had occured around ten years ago I'd be upset, but now it's rather pathetic.

Yeah, this was really surprising. Both he and Farrah Fawcett died today! But I guess most people care about Michael's death more. :P

It's the end of an era, quite literally. He was like none other, lived through waves and waves of American musical culture and defined it as he went along. He was a cool cat.

Dude was a legend well before he passed away, clearly and evidently. Let the remembering begin!

I really hope the rose-colored glasses surrounding his death allow everyone to see through the controversy, and appreciate the fact that he is one of the greatest musicians to grace this planet.

Rest in peace.

He may have been an unusual guy (and that's putting it lightly), but the world will remember him as a musical legend.

Rest in peace, M.J.

That would be because the guy is dead. Whether or not you think he belonged in jail or was a freak of nature is irrelevant. As long as they weren't mass murderers in life, showing respect to the deceased is both accepted and encouraged. You didn't have to like him. Just respect his death and move on.

QFE. Either you like him or you don't, his death should change nothing.

McP, the more obvious example is Heath Ledger.
The best you can get for your career is death. It's a fact.

Although to be honest I'm really not that sad about it. It's not like I knew him personally plus he took a pretty stupid turn in his life at some point. I mean he was an amazing musician and all that but it doesn't affect my daily life or anything. He kinda stole farah's (sp?) thunder too.

It's gotta be quite the personality to subdue 15 to 20 drunk people into huddling quietly around the television watching the news.

I was sincerely and entirely distraught upon hearing this.

Actually, it's pretty deniable. I could think of at least half a dozen people who could equal him musically.
Certainly one of the best, though.
