Purely out of curiosity, does anyone here besides me have and use PGP?

My public key is hosted on pgp.mit.edu.

I used to have a Hushmail account, but it expired. I'll probably set up PGP on my side at some point in the future, but as of now I don't have a PGP setup.

Er, sure, in the same way that keyboards are devices for typing English essays. PGP has wider uses.
For example, I use it to encrypt a number of sensitive files on my computer, and to verify my identity to a particularly paranoid friend of mine.
Anything that can be represented in bits can be encrypted or signed, including things that look nothing at all like text.

GnuPG is the open-source place to be. I use with with GPGShell
for Windows, a convenient GUI that automates common tasks via a
tray icon.
In my industry (I love starting sentences that way) the need for
encryption and verification of documents and file between people
comes up frequently. GPG is the de facto system for this,
because it's a widely supported asymmetric system with a
distributed, but unified, public key infrastructure, and plenty
of open-source implementations. Everything the paranoid person
could want.
