Have you ever had one of the most exciting and life changing things happen to you that at the time you couldnt stop smiling? and then the next day a sibling or someone really close to you does something or has something happen and the wonderful thing that happened to you the day before was trumped and you got over shadowed for it?

that has kinda happened to me....

Hey, ninja. Long time no see. So, what's new in your life?

No, that's never really happened to me. Some of the best things that have ever happened in my life, were things that I did not think were at all very special at the time.

I can never tell how much of an asshole you're being at any given time, and I love it.

You'll probably just laugh or something, but there was this day when I really wanted to go to McDonald's, but my parents insisted in going to a kinda regional restaurant. So we go to this big, full of persons restaurant (oh god, I was really hungry, but angry at all shit that were happening in life (unrelated to McDonald's)) and my mom whispers (ey, look behind you, at what those customers are eating.

You know when you just can't fucking hide your smile? GOD, that was one huge, juicy beef. Seriously, I was all thinking in shitty stuff and the smile wouldn't go back.
I felt quite embarrassed when I noticed I was smiling at a beef, and the person was all " ,':\ " and "wtf", looking at me.

Then, I ate the beef, and the smile went hiding deeply in the shit I had. We went back at that restaurant, several times.

But it won't ever be the same to me.
It's certainly not the deepest story of all times.

well i guess i should tell you what im talking about that seems to be kinda bad for me. well this past weekend, saturday to be exact, was the happiest day of my entire life. I got engaged.

the next day. my sister had a baby. which is also happy but. now anyone that sees me and knows me and my sister, is congradualting me on being an aunt and asking how my sister is. and its kinda demeaning to me i guess... but its hard to even deal with it. and its an oh yeah okay so you got engaged nice.... hows the baby doing, how big is it, hows your sister doing? talk about irritation. your special weekend turns into a nightmare.... plus my mom isnt here to celebrate with me because shes out takeing care of my sister.

so i have my happiest moment ever and it turns to be sad for me...

Congatulations! That's amazing news.
Have you guys started planning the wedding or anything yet? And if not, do you have plans for when it'll be?
And just think... between that day and today, you'll be looking at all the beautiful places you'd consider holding your wedding, buying flowers, buying your dress (omg giggle giggle), and having a bachelorette party. ;D
And then, y'know, you've got a whole honeymoon to look forward to.

That's cool that your sister got knocked up, or whatever. You should stop by her place every now and again between your shopping sprees to bring her towels for all the puke.

You should totally put up pictures of your wedding dress, when you decide on one. And keep that ring nice 'n shiny... it takes a lot of effort and courage to ask someone to marry them, so it sounds like you've made some guy the happiest guy in the world. :p
But yeah, that's one huge step up in the world. There's not a lot of people out there who find that kind of happiness in life. I'm really happy for you guys.

Suki: Just because she's a girl on the internet doesn't give you any right to go around mocking her posts and making fun of her. It's pretty sad that you took the time to write all of that at her expense.

I agree with Vyacheslav; I've seen you do this before. To anyone reading it appears as though you're mocking ninja purely because she's a girl on the internet, and it really gets less amusing as you go on.

Congrats, ninja! Wight and Vyachy, stop being spoil-sports. You also assume the worst in people when Tsukatu was clearly being nice.

I don't know if that's the issue so much as past experience with Tsukatu has led me to believe that at any time on this forum, he's either debating or being a douchebag (and sometimes both), but rarely neither.

I don't think you two understand. Tsukatu was pointing out that just because ninja143's sister had a baby after her engagement doesn't make her engagement less important than having a baby. She still has an entire wedding to plan. From reading ninja143's post it doesn't seem like she understands that very well or at all.

Really, ninja143, you just seem jealous of the attention your sister is getting.

Oh, come on, there have been plenty of times where I've been helpful or informative. Jesus Christ, you guys are so judgmental. You're accusing me of being my own caricature.

even though i was the one that got engaged *BEFORE* she had her baby *Im* the one thats being jealous, I think its more that i deserve my right of passage since the engagement was the first thing to happen, not overshadowed because of some baby that happened to be spawned in the basement of my brother in laws parents house.

Honestly, it sounds to me like you need a night out with people who don't know your sister too well. :p
You said she's far away, right? Go out with some local friends, or try to get them to throw a surprise party for you. Engagement is not the sort of news that deserves to be overshadowed.

Yeah, i don't see how suki was mocking ninja, he just seemed to be honestly happy for her. but what do i know.
anyway, i don't really know you ninja, but congrats :)
back to the topic:
I'm always being overshadowed by my younger brother, if i get an A he gets an A* (A plus).

Im shit at sports, everyone in his year orgasms over his sporting prowess.

My only trump card is his tastes are bleurgh. For example, he prefers the remake of the italien job to the original michael cain classic. nuff said.

Well, were you planning to get engaged for the last nine months? Frankly, an engagement isn't that important. I think it's very cheap of you to evaluate the importance of a child in comparison to your plans to marry. It would be like if you announced your intention to have a baby some day and the next day your sister got married. People would be more interested about the marriage, which makes sense, because that's something that actually happened, and not just an arbitrary conception of a plan to do something. Look forward to your marriage and hope that your husband will pay the kind of attention to you that you apparently need.
