Today is september 11, 2009, 8 years after the attacks on the Trade Centers as well as the Pentagon, all over the news is the footage of the attacks, this brings back so much for me because my grandmother's office was a block away from the 1st tower. I remember watching the footage of the crash the day it happened on the news and started to cry, it was scary to see it then and its still hard to see it now.
Where were you when you saw/heard about the attacks, and how did you feel?

I was at school and felt ambivalent.

Yeah, there secrets in american dollars,
not strange.

The towers defied gravity. One fell in 8, and the other one in 10 seconds. According to Newton, an object falling from that altitude needs at least 12 seconds to reach the ground.
But no, I don't believe it's a conspiracy.

I was at school, and I didn't care much. We got out of class early, which was neat.

But the mass of the towers? It effects the falling time.

Average things fall at about 10 meters per second, squared. Big things fall about twice that fast. Small things and feathers fall half that fast or not at all. Anything that falls fast also sinks in water. Balloons fall up.

9.81 meters/second^2.
I was in class and they had a school-wide assembly during the day explaining what happened. It was horrible since some of the kids' parents worked at the Twin Towers. Sent us home early.

September 11, 1973: A U.S. orchestrated and financed coup d’état overthrows democratically elected President, Salvador Allende, to install military dictator, Augusto Pinochet. Augusto Pinochet ruled Chile from 1973 to 1990. During that time he was responsible for the disappearance of over 3,000 Chileans, murders, concentration camps, and torture.
Also, on the subject of
stupid...
According to Newton, an object falling from that altitude needs at least 12 seconds to reach the ground.
g = 10 m/s^2, in 12 seconds you'd go 5 * 144 = 720 meters, or 2300 feet. In nine seconds, you'll fall 5 * 81 = 405 meters, or 1300 feet. The towers were 1300 feet high, so they'd require just nine seconds to fall.
But I digress. Where was it that you got these figures for the fall time of the towers?

Nevermind that, it was just something mentioned on one other forum.

I was in Canada, in school, and did not hear about it until I got back home. I think I would have had a stronger reaction if I had ever been to the World Trade Center.

Pff. Easy answer..it was the way they were falling, which was defined by how they were hit by the plane. Look at the video of each of them falling, and you should get what i mean...
and btw, I didn't 'find out' what had happened until the next day i think,
AND i didn't effectively realize what had happened until some field trip we took to a memorial and watched some video
AND(again...) just a little bit about me,I have almost NEVER cryied, just the way i am,but i was still pretty sad..

Same, actually. I remember exactly where I was, though, and the circumstances of me hearing the news: I was at the base of the steps by my locker (I was in middle school), and my friend was walking down from the top. When he asked if I heard what happened to the Twin Towers, I said I didn't, and he said that a plane hit them or something. Then we talked about completely different things, which interested us more.
I figured it was an accident or something, and didn't care. I expected the news to blow over within a few days.

But no, I don't believe it's a conspiracy.
But it
was a conspiracy! The devious bastards sabotaged our laws of physics!
Honestly, most of these curious factoids make me chuckle. "One tower defied gravity, and this is incontrovertible proof that it was caused by the Jews and funded by the Illuminati."

Too bad. It's such a nice place.
Oh yeah, and, my teacher cried when she found out and I knocked over a desk or something to express my feelings. Just a day in the life.
On the other hand, on the eighth anniversary of the Twin Towers' demise, my patriotic side went ballistic. That was this morning.

Who stands to gain the most by changing natural philosophy using precious "science" and "physics"? The same anti-Catholic organizations that have disproven the Catholics over and over in the past. Now, the world believes that the earth is
round and that the earth
isn't the center of the universe. What is the evil Jewlluminatus gonna convince the religious world next? That biological life adapts to its environment? Bullshit. Stop this wave of Judaica before it engulfs all of the North American Union.
Fact: 40% of the world's Jews live in Israel, which is entirely made of Jews.
Fact: Another 40% of the world's Jews live in USA, which is entirely made of Walmart.
Coincidence?
