Disabled from a flu shot

I ran into this on Inside Edition and am stunned at the side effects a flu shot had on Desiree Jennings.
Or maybe she is acting just to defraud the insurance companies...?

There's always a chance something is going to go wrong. But that chance is infinitesimally small. Even if what happened to her is real, the chance of it happening to someone else is negligible.

You have roughly equal chances of getting Guillain Barre Syndrome, as I recall it, from both flu shots and the actual flu.

I got my shot a few weeks ago, it made me tired, and I also noticed more of a flu effect. Made my nose runny, made me cough, also made my eyes water.

Flu and Conan O'Brien have not one fucking thing to do with each other. Still, though.

I'm not calling shenanigans because of the news station that's covering it.
I'm calling shenanigans because I think she's fucking lying.

It's because of what's in a flu shot. You know what's in a flu shot, right? Flu.

Okay, so look. My grandfather wobbled a *little* and had to use a walker. Anyone who wobbles that much falls the fuck over. She wouldn't under any circumstances be able to stand under her own power. She-nanigans.

ahahahaha he sed she-nanigans cuz shes a gurl lol ahahahah lolololo
Anywho. I disagree. Not only because of what Kablizzy said, but because she's a horrible actress. If I was falling over myself like that, I'd be freaked-the-fuck-out.

This is exactly what's making me call shenanigans. Her goofy walk is far too reminiscent of amateurs doing warmups for theater games. If you get a bunch of newbies in a room and tell them to act like they're marionettes, at least half of the room would give you a perfect impression of this chick.

OKAY NOW I AM MAD. Why do they try to stop the flu with flu?
BULLSH*T!!

Its a ridiculously weakened version of the flu, and if I remember right, most of the virus is actually dead, but that is just how vaccines work. They inject a weak version of whatever you're being vaccinated from into your body, hopefully your immune system goes 'woh, thats some bad shit', attacks it, and registers it in its magic 'this shit is bad' database so the next time the virus gets in your body, your immune system kicks its ass before it has a chance to give you the cough/sinus/stomach/whatever crap.

You're just part of the conspiracy.

What a loaded video description. It sounds sarcastic, but I'm pretty sure it's not.

"So what really happened? Did Desiree Jennings really suffer a one-in-a-million reaction to the seasonal flu shot, as she says? Or was it all some kind of elaborate hoax? Or was it something else entirely?"
I'm gonna go with #3 -- a very poorly thought out and executed hoax.
That video is hysterical. I can't believe they didn't tear her apart for her obvious backpedaling, or maybe even invented side-effects of a recovery and asked her how she handled them. I would've had a field day with her.
"Don't film me gettin' in my car.
*giggle* I probably shouldn't be driving!"
"No, it'd be irresponsible of me to let you go out and get someone killed. I'm sure the police will give you a ride home and hold on to your license for you until you recover. Lemme just give them a call.
That's right, limp away, bitch! Limp away! Run, Forrest, run!"
