Supreme GFX snobs.

I'd always believed this site was had some of the most advanced opinionated digital artists. I mean, it took over a year to get any form of attention on my art. Well, my mind has been changed. Planet Renders has some pretty snobby artists. Apparently, I rank novice to low novice in terms of sig making.

Never thought I'd see the day.

It isn't exactly difficult to find an online tutorial and learn how to make a sig or two. That is why these days graphic design is pretty competitive, because a lot of people can do it. Not a lot of people are good at it, though, but enough to fill a forum with snobby artists. DeviantArt is full of people who do digital work, photography, and paint blood on their faces and take creepy pictures of themselves in their bathrooms with the doors locked. It really takes some sorting to pick out the amazing work from the endless abyss of good to mediocre stuff out there on the interwobs, and not so much work to point out the bad. Don't get discourage from the fact that there are people who think they're so cool because they know how to use a render. My appreciation goes to the people who make the tutorials (well, the better ones, anyway) and actually take the time to try new things instead of grabbing some brushes off of the internet and throwing them onto a blank canvas, and then proceed to make a thread where they show off how cool and amazing they are with photoshop.

Also, I'm glad when I see someone here puts up some traditional images (like drawings, though there aren't many paintings that I have seen). rantrantrant

Don't get me wrong. I love the critisism. Mindless glory with no negatives sorta annoy me cause I don't know where to improve. It's just that's the first time being called a novice. O_o

And I agree with what you were saying there. We need more than just the digital stuff. devianART has a lot of that. And I have resorted to learning to draw.

I can relate to that.

I guess I should stop doing that then...

yes you should damnit.

and maestro, if you like, ill scan some of my graphics work. if i can fit it into a stupid A3 scanner. >< all graphite on paper.

dA is nice actually, yes there are people who whore up piles of views, millions of faves etc, but overall the community is cool. it annoys me when some people dont do awesome art but still get piles of gasms everywhere. but eh. happens everywhere, even on numa.
