Teeth Brushing

I usually brush my teeth once a day. I think I should brush more, though.

Morning and bedtime, like clockwork.

If I've had a particularly flavoursome meal, or too much coffee, I'll brush my teeth after.

I tend to give them a quick clean before I go out or have people over, too.

Once a day and mouthwash at night

Once a day, plus right before I go out anywhere or have guests over. So 1-3 times depending on the day.

Every weekday morning. I probably ought to brush again before I sleep.
On weekends, if I don't expect to need to be presentable, I neither brush teeth nor shower. If I'm going out, though, I always shower and brush just before.

Morning and Night, just like the dentists recommend.

If you only brush twice a day, then eat lunch in the middle of the day and don't brush until the evening, then you'll have food on your teeth until the evening. It makes sense to brush your teeth after every meal; it's a bad idea to brush after breakfast but then let lunch go.

Same with me, but whether I "need to be presentable" ( <- I like that phrase) is surprisingly unrelated to whether it's a weekday or not.

I don't know anyone anal-retentive enough to take a toothbrush *with them* to work or school, so after every meal is not really an option for rational folk.

Once or twice a day, mouthwash rarely, haven't seen a dentist in seventeen years.

I brush twice a day except for when I end up going to bed at 3 am. I have very little motivation to do anything but hop into bed at that point. I floss once a week, maybe. I wear my retainers about once a month.

Like Skyline, my hygiene tends to go to shit after 2 AM. I usually end up with once in the morning and once later on if I eat something fierce.

How the hell do any of you ever have a weekend where you don't need to brush your teeth? Recluses?

Ah, correction - when I made that post I was forgetting about school or work. Quite right - it is impractical to brush your teeth three times a day. But my idea was that at lunch when you can't brush your teeth, that's still fairly bad for your teeth, because the food is just being left to rot the teeth.

Only in the morning.

A little less than once a day, so I selected 'every other day'. No particular reason for the infrequency except that I just don't often think about brushing my teeth, but I've been on this kind of schedule for many years and I've always had a perfectly clean bill of health from the dentist.

Once a day is fine, as long as you don't eat a ton of sugar or take a bunch of stimulants. Really, not clenching and grinding your teeth is just as important as brushing them.

I try and do it every day, but I mostly just forget and do other things. I will do it at least once every other day ,though.

I've never brushed my teeth at night, ever.

There was a point of time (a year or so) where I only brushed my teeth... Maybe twenty or so times. That sorely disgusts me. Weirdly enough, I only had to get a filling on my... Left molar, I think, when I went for my annual dentists appointment.

There was a long period of time, I believe over a year, during which I was afraid that the toothpaste would poison me, and thus did not brush my teeth at all.

I knew a girl who became obsessed with brushing her teeth, brought a brush to school, upwards of six-seven times a day, and finally destroyed the helpful plaque-like layer on her teeth and had to have surgery.

I brush my teeth when I remember to. So usually about three times a week. My teeth are fine except for a bit of tartar around the backs.
I often don't brush my teeth because I'm in such a rush in the morning, or am doing something and just completely forget.

Or the opposite. I've gone out Friday night for a party and not been home again until Sunday evening.

I think all of us have done that one.
