hehe. GTalk status messages of all my friends who are online right now:

"On this day, at this election, in this moment, change has come to America"
"YES WE CAN!"
"I am once again proud to be an american, after all of these years"
"Everyone who isn't mentioning Obama in their status... should change their status."

Tonight we have made history. It doesn't matter what religion you are, it doesn't matter what age you are, it doesn't matter what the color of your skin in; if you believe, strive, and reach toward your goal, wondrous things will happen. And Barack Obama is proof of that. He will give the change we need - not to blue states or read states, republicans or democrats, blacks or whites, not to Northern or southern states - to the United States of America.

Obama urges a NO vote on Prop 8* in California. Prop 8* won in California. Why are there so many two-faced bitches voting for Obama?

*Prop 8 in California proposes that the state constitution be amended to define marriage to be between a man and a woman.

I think you can vote for a person without agreeing with everything they say. If you vacantly believe everything that your candidate believes, you may be in trouble.

That said, if you believe that marriage (a religious ritual) needs to be state-sanctioned and provide state-sanctioned liberties, you also may be in trouble.

I don't get the people who think that suddenly, because Obama is president, the US is going to be full of puppies, sunshine, and love.

It is great and all guys, but we are still going to be in Iraq for a couple years, China is going to continue to be dicks, and those that took giant loans and amassed large debt that they didn't have a chance to pay off are still going to be stupid.

Sure, but the second derivative (with respect to time) of our national surplus is now positive.

a) I now hate you for bringing calc into a political thread
b) that remains to be seen (although it better be)

Also, he isn't president yet, not till january or february or something like that.
So the second derivative of whatever isn't because he is.

January 25th, I think. he already has a lot of power though, as president-elect. not official power, but people will listen to him.
And of course the US isn't suddenly full of puppies and sunshine and love. as Obama said, it may not happen in a year, it may not happen in a term, but we can bring change to America. Obama is not a silver bullet, a magical fix for everything wrong with the US. He can, however, lead us in the right direction; a direction that Bush Jr. and McCain had not/would not lead us.

Close. It's January 20th when Obama makes his oath of office.

Not to say that I'm worried, or that he'll be prone to it, but for the sake of all future minority presidential candidates, I hope Obama doesn't become infamous somehow. Even though any mistakes he might make would not at all be influenced by his race, that's all that white supremacists nation-wide need.
