Lets discuss how to get through those extemely boring pieces of work that you have to do to avoid being punished.
for example i have a project that i have managed to argue the deadline two weeks later than everyone else, i haven't even started and it's due tomorrow. every time i try to start it i write two sentences then get bored and go back to doing nothing.

These days, large amounts of stress are the only things that make me do things I don't want to do.
I'm the master procrastinator, but I kick ass when I'm under pressure.

Yeah, same here. See, I have my music exam on Tuesday, but I'm gonna do all my revision tomorrow and wing it. Well, I'll
try.

Maybe you could just "NOT" do it lol
When ive got boring project or something i always end up doing it the night before its due and get like at least 90% on it ... i guess its cos im worrying about getting a detention? Try that for a strategy

I do the same thing! Except it's that I'm afraid I'll forget.

I have a project due Wednesday, and I don't even know what I'm supposed to do.
I'll still do it, once I get around to it, and once I've talked to my group members, but before then, procrastination is still running though my veins.
If you get bored, then do it while listening to music, as it works for me.

i'm the exact same as tsukatu. i think i work better at the last minute/while under pressure than when i have a lot of time left. my work is of higher quality, and i am much more efficient with my time. so i prefer to procrastinate; it's better in the long run ;P

I had a friend who would listen to j-pop, with the idea that "j-pop is so terrible it makes me focus on the homework".
Also, when I was younger I was pumped full of methylphenidate. It was effective enough.
These days I work in a room full of other people who are also working, which makes it a little more bearable.

So do I. Only a lot of times I actually do forget it and then bad stuff ends up happening.

You left out the part about how you finally did do it, and it sucked.

Let me just say that procrastination has severely messed up my life. It's a horrible, rooted problem, too - it's not a physiological condition that can be treated or cured with medication or therapy. I feel as if I sometimes perform better under time pressure, but then I simply forget and I'll say "I'll wake up extra early to finish this assignment"... then I'm too tired and I say "Oh I'll do it at lunch" and sometimes I manage to pull something off. Either its crap or its alright. I simply can't put any effort into something I know I can get away with doing alright in, because it's been rooted in me since that horrible, under funded, curriculum... ly challenged (?) school I was in during 9th - 11th grade. Now I'm in Canada and the move during my senior year totally screwed me over. I can't focus and I can't get used to this quicker, more organized system.
It seems to me that people are just... numbers. Everyone is so concerned with their marks! "What you getting? 78? Ha, 84 bitch!"" and "Oh, 14/20 on K/U, that's gonna bring my mark into the 60s!! Maybe I won't get into X university and then I'll become a failure!!!"
College applications are done online primarily here, but... kids are just numbers to everyone. No more names or ideas or habits or anything like that - just your student number, the course codes you took, and what a number that apparently represents your intelligence is. If it's under X mark, you don't get in or people laugh at you because you could have done better by doing the work. I find it really ridiculous.

Preach it.
I had to drop out of college on the east coast because I kept putting off class. I ended up only coming in for tests, and holding off on studying until the day before (and I spent 4-6 solid hours learning what had been taught up to that point). Obviously, I wasn't able to keep that up. My last semester's GPA was a 0.25 (that's three F's and a D).
