I was wondering if I should put this in The Pie Forum or this, but I'll let you guys decide.
The Great Debate
The idea: I was thinking that every week I post up a poll of just about anything that has two sides to it, i.e dogs or cats. Then the community debates on what they like better and the overall poll results wins the debate. Get it?
I can't think of all of the polls by myself, so drop me a PM with an idea for a poll if want. I don't know which day of the week to start this on, I was thinking every Friday?
Tell me what you think of this, thanks.

You need to make sure people are allowed to change their votes.

Conditionally for this, on the basis that at least a third of the polls are created by maestro.

Ney. I don't see how this would be any different than the general use of both the pie forum and general discussion. We have debate topics all the time over trivial things, and I see no reason to put a name to it. Just let things run their course and we'll continue to debate things we find interesting at our own pace, as we always have.

Eh, I can't really give prizes to all the voters, but maybe if someone could make a sigbar saying "I won the Debate" or something would be pretty cool.Universezero wrote:Ye.
Will there be winners? We they get prizes? This would make this even better.

This would not work, purely for the fact that Tsukatu's sig does have a size limit.moonlight wrote:Eh, I can't really give prizes to all the voters, but maybe if someone could make a sigbar saying "I won the Debate" or something would be pretty cool.Universezero wrote:Ye.

I could just remember to dump them all in every post I make, instead.

Not enough room for anything else with that huge ego, eh? That is the joke you were making, right?squibbles wrote:This would not work, purely for the fact that Tsukatu's sig does have a size limit.moonlight wrote:Eh, I can't really give prizes to all the voters, but maybe if someone could make a sigbar saying "I won the Debate" or something would be pretty cool.Universezero wrote:Ye.

I think this sounds like a good idea, so long as we manage to do more debating than arguing.

Suki and I would invariably find a way to take diametrically opposed sides every week and then argue semantics for said week.

Debate one is up! But how do you reset the poll votes?

It at least used to be that if you added or removed any of the poll options, the votes would reset. Dunno if it's still that way.moonlight wrote:Debate one is up! But how do you reset the poll votes?
You're not going to make a new topic for each debate, though? I really think you should.
