Just in time for Quantum of Solace. Who is the best actor who played James Bond? I picked Pierce Brosnan because he was the James Bond that I knew when I was growing up, so he kinda became the role-model James Bond for me.

Sean Connery and Daniel Craig all the way.

I pick Daniel Craig.

None of the actors even come close to portraying the Bond from the original novels, and as they dumbed down Casino Royale entirely (removing most of the subtle character development that was so key to Bond's evolution), they didn't really give Craig a chance.

Brosnan is far too wet to be convincing Bond, and the others ham it up too much.

Timothy Dalton is the only actor, for me at least, who even bothered to attempt to portray Bond's inner turmoil.

Geroge Lazenby was /awful/.

It's close between Sean Connery and Daniel Craig. I'd be 50/50.

James Blonde looks like some sort of millennial action hero. He doesn't look like he's from a supposed-to-be-more-lighthearted spy movie.

Bond needs wacky gadgets, cannot take himself too seriously, and must be a witty brown-haired Brit instead of an Aryan meathead.

The novels and the movies are two very separate things. Usually the movie should try and faithfully portray the story in the novel, but I think the movies, though not a perfect representation of the novels, are very good in their own way. The movies for the most part create a world of character extremes where the villains are all evil, the protagonists are all good, and the girls are all hot. In this sense Sean Connery was the best Bond.

Probably it's because of the generation of teens that will go out for movies would see Daniel Craig as the original James Bond, versus how people just a bit older would know more about James Bond then girls today know of Twilight.
It's like being introduced to a new TV show, but missed all of season one. *cough Heroes cough*, obviously you're gonna like the one you've seen more, since the first ones don't really appeal to you. And that is why Daniel Craig is so popular.

Brosnan. I'm not really a fan of Craig... he seems like your generic action hero meathead, complete with obligatory dead woman to angst over. Although, in fairness, that may have as much to do with the scriptwriters and director as the actor.

Craig is too dark to be James Bond. Too much violence.

I voted for Connery. Personally, I like the ham and I sort of view the movies as entirely different entities from the books.
