Just thought I'd drop in and say hi, see how the old gang is doing. I imagine at this point most folks around here probably don't remember me, I used to be a pretty avid mapper, but I'm entirely inactive these days. I looked at NUMA the other day, it looks like it's been over a year since I posted a map. I don't play N anymore. Maybe if they ever release v1.5 I would consider peaking at it.

For those wondering what I'm up to these days, well I've graduated from university, and now work full time. I've also recently gotten engaged to my long time girlfriend. In the near future I am planning on applying for graduate school, my goal is to earn my PhD in psychology.

Hey! We're certainly not the community as you remember us (I'm only tangentially still a part of it, I think), but there are still quite a few needles in the haystack. Congrats on everything. It's good to see you.

Most of the old members are in college now. KinGAleX is in law school. I graduated college last year and I'm getting a PhD in physics. Suki is working for startups in the Bay Area and making more than the rest of the forum put together. Tanner is an indie game developer. Kablizzy is dating Jiggerjaw's ex-girlfriend. Dave moved back to Virginia with his not-dead parents. Sidke moved in with LV for a while and then left to go travel all over Asia or something. Jig and Guis are in... water of an elevated temperature, legally speaking. Which is weird because I always figured it'd be me.

A few people still hang out on IRC. We've got newbies, kuri and Sunset and Paradox, who are just as dumb as the old newbies.

That's the state of the community, 2012, more or less.

Hello. Things aren't as bustling as it used to be, but some mappers from old are active right now. Not many new ones since last year, to be honest. Though they're probably new to you.

epigone- great to hear from you. Hope you consider dropping by again sometime, and a huge congrats on getting engaged.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying it sucks here now. Yes, the overall quality of maps and community members has gone down, but it's still fun, right? Right. Shut the hell up. <3

By "quality of members" I meant level of camaraderie between everyone here. People don't seem to want to talk with each other as much.

Most people remember you cause we didn't really receive a staggering amount of new members lately. Or really ever, iirc.

What an awesome time to have come back and taken a look at the N community, I was doing exactly the same.

Although I was never nearly anywhere near as big a part as you epigone, I was around back in 2006/07 time too and have come back a had a quick look at everything. I doubt that anyone actually remembers me but I'm surprised to see so many names that I certainly remember although Sythe, not posting in your usual burgandy?

I have to say I was surprised to see that there are still new maps being created and NUMA has 220,000+ maps, so impressive when I submitted my last map in 2008 and it was #117365.

Anyway, just stopped by because I was bored and on the internet.
