I clicked on Colloquy and it opened up, but there was no chat dialog box. I figured it was a Colloquy bug, but when I tried to connect with Opera Chat it stopped at "Connecting to server..."

Is there something wrong, or is it my computer?

Oh, weird. I know Skyline had this same problem with mIRC, but managed to get on using Mibbit. I thought it was a client problem, but weird.

I remember that time when half of America couldn't get on for no apparent reason.

Okay...I just tried Mibbit and next to the server name in the tab it said (dead).

IRC isn't working for me, either. Tried mIRC, Colloquy, Chatzilla, M$ Chat... none work.

Doesn't work for me. I tried another server and it worked fine, so it can't be the browser.

I notice it's the east coast of the US that's having problems...

I'd take that reason except for TribulatioN, who is the odd man out.

Indeed I am, but unfortunately, no one else here is currently residing in Alberta(!) with IRC problems as well, to take the oddity out.

I'm getting the same problem. Right now, I'm trying to get on to Vent and get a better idea of what's going on.

<sidke> Not that it helps anyone who cannot connect now, but to whom it may help the ip is 66.79.163.195.

It seems like the problem is in resolving the waypasteleven hostname, so connecting to the IP directly should work.

I've been having problems all day - network issue of some sort. Connecting straight to the IP works though, so I encourage everyone to try that.

Actually, it seems to have fixed itself long ago. I'm on right now, so it might be a problem on your end.
