Get on IRC more. I average maybe two posts a day. Yet somehow I have become mod of Discussion, probably because I am on IRC a lot.

I haven't been on IRC yet, could you post a direct link there? its actually a little annoying being told that i am promising on a third of my maps lol (well i guess thatd only be 7 out of 21 haha).

i heard there was a new place to go or something?

She's really talking about getting involved in a different respect - to be totally honest, I would've thought you're already a known name on IRC. You're already somewhat involved. I guess you could give mapping a shot if you want something more.

And then when you actually post we won't know who the hell you are. It's not being involved, watching people build a house is not being involved in the construction process.
But of course, try not to spam. Take a relaxed approach and people will soon know you.

im some what getting involved however the page i made on N mapping has been dormant for a good 2 weeks or so. but im trying, and IRC does help if you don't have an administrator making fun of you every time you get on. but other then that i like IRC and all the people that are on it.

I'd say that I'm suffering from the same problem, but to a lesser extent. I mostly post in the Gaming forum, with occasional forays into the Imaging forum. It's for this reason that I was one of the first members on the new forums, yet only have about 150 posts, yet am recognized in these forums to a certain extent.

Lately, I've begun expanding myself into different parts of the community, and have found my niche(s) Discussion, Gaming, Imaging, Debate, and This Forum.

Just browse the forums, find a topic that seems interesting, look at it, post if desired and repeat the process. Just don't do it so much that people start getting annoyed at you. Like rN used to be/still is...

And yeah, IRC greatly helps with your getting known. Once you get greeted upon entry in #n, then you're truly a member, no matter how involved you think you are/aren't.

Edit: I also post into the Multimedia forum a substantial amount as well, since I love music and writing and things of the like, just art in general.
