I would suggest making a more visible difference. It will be be hard to tell which is which once/if they are implemented.Chase wrote:Post reserved for when I need it, I'll upload the images beside the text relevant to it.

Just lower the opacity on the background and apply the image.

I like animator's logo. I just think it ought to have a more general appearance, rather than a specific level.

I definately agree. I also want it smaller, though.Topo wrote:I like animator's logo. I just think it ought to have a more general appearance, rather than a specific level.

I've noticed that when browsing the forums and when searching for posts, there is no distinction between the stickied topics and other topics beyond the icon used and, in the case of browsing, the stickied topics are at the top of the page. IMO, it would be better to differentiate stickied and other topics in the same way they were in the old forum, namely:
1) When searching, have the stickied topics always appear at the top of the list, regardless of whether they were first or not.
2) In the individual forums have a separator or dividing line between the stickied and normal topics, or have the background of stickied topics a different colour to others, say a brighter purple.
Note :: I was unsure of whether to post this in the general skin topic, or Atilla's skin thread, so I put it here.

Stickied topics actually are differentiated by an i on the red dot, but the difference between them and regular topics is very hard to see. On the forumer.com forum, stickied topics have "Pinned:" before their names so they are easy to see, but no such prefix seems to be used here.

I'm currently working on incluye's skin, then I may move onto Chases's one.
If you want to see how it's going, or if you want your own forum to do testing, etc. PM me.

And don't point out that things aren't right, I know that.

I noticed that the online/offline buttons are both the same orange as the rest of the icons. So I have taken the liberty of making these ones. I think they blend rather well with the background colour of the skin. Any opinions would be welcome.

Yeah, I figured a straight red clashed to much with the background, but add a bit of orange and it goes nicely. Same applies to the Online, except yellow was added.incluye wrote:"Offline" is sort of...orange.

What about using Animator's old online-offline buttons?
Oh, wait, those wouldn't really work with the current skin.
What about with mine?

Hold on there, cowboy.

I have new ones, here's the offline one, don't be intimidated by how it looks in a purple background, it does well with light colors. Try it.What about using Animator's old online-offline buttons?

I find it difficult to read the white text on the pale blue background.

All you can really do is make your own style; I'm handling mine and icons and buttons and Chase is handling his (although I don't know if he needs help, you could PM him).

Well, I have an old skin design except that it's entirely way too apple-esque, and idk. My thoughts are N-styled backgrounds and a solid white translucent main body. hawt. Simple = hawt. Logo definitely needs to be centered. The top menu bars could probably stay where they are. I don't particularly like the side-to-side layout right now, because everything is too wide in a high resolution. Basically, what I have in mind are just simple image changes and an ENTIRELY new palette. Doesn't really need a lot of fancy work. Though the font size in the textbox I'm typing in right now really needs to be a lot bigger >.<
