Forgive me, but for I minute I thought you were talking about yourself, what with the whole "I'm leaving NUMA...again...oh look, I'm back!" kind of thing.Ampersand wrote:The shenanigans you've pulled for the explicit purpose of attention-whorery is kinda ridiculous also.andalus wrote:Bearing a grudge is ridiculous, Dave.

Quite obviously, you don't follow my career. I haven't been "Back" at NUMA for four years. Plus, my shenanigans are cheeky and fun. ^_^cheesemonger wrote:Forgive me, but for I minute I thought you were talking about yourself, what with the whole "I'm leaving NUMA...again...oh look, I'm back!" kind of thing.Ampersand wrote:The shenanigans you've pulled for the explicit purpose of attention-whorery is kinda ridiculous also.andalus wrote:Bearing a grudge is ridiculous, Dave.

Because mentioning anybody else means the shit has really hit the fan. Evil_Sire can't touch the longevity of Bupo's behaviour, and nobody has come close to Atramentis' return. Exactly. I'm awesome. But not as awesome as Bupo or Atramentis. Actually, I am, just I never did something quite so crazy (or arduous). Talking about scandals, why are half of the 170000 maps missing?Manus Australis wrote:Because mentioning anybody else means the shit has really hit the fan. Luck? What?shenanigan wrote:Thats pretty cool, i think. You can tell he had a lot of fun writing that story. I wouldnt be able to do that. And you cant blame him for wanting to go out with a bang. The urge to be special and different is within us all, i think its cool how he managed to express it and get the entire community to fall for it. By the end of the death post, though, i thought it sounded very exaggerated and fake. Its not a very nice thing to do, but its still pretty badass and must've taken a helluva lot of luck to accompish. I applaud that little stunt.
Why would we not believe something like this? There's absolutely no reason to think it could be fake, that they got the community to 'fall for it' wasn't anything to do with skill on their part. Oh, it's easy for you to call it as exaggerated and fake in hindsight, but at the time TDL was being very sincere with his responses and no one had a clue.
They were simply two dicks with a silly idea, it's not badass in the slightest, and tbh, most of the responses were probably slightly insincere as both members were largely complete dicks throughout their time in the community. Especially Atramentis. That guy was always dense as a brick and half as interesting.

And my opinion contests yours. See, the beauty of these threads is that we get to reply to and comment on previous posts and discuss things. I'm not trying to change your mind, merely point out how ridiculous you are for thinking this little escapade was anywhere near cool.shenanigan wrote:

my opinion has value. you cant say that it /is/ ridiculous. you can /think/ its ridiculous if you want, but its not a fact.brighter wrote:I'm not trying to change your mind, merely point out how ridiculous you are for thinking this little escapade was anywhere near cool.
secondly, dont expect people to want to debate with you if you're going to be an unrelenting, snobbish, sarcastic know-it-all

We don't need to write 'imo' tags around these things, eganic, it's obvious that nothing we write is gospel and that objectivity is paramount. You're being a silly git about this and pointing out obvious things just to give yourself some kind of pathetically shallow elevation.

If you can't take having your opinion contested, then don't put it on the internet. This isn't a billboard, it's a forum.shenanigan wrote:why cant i just have my opinion, and you not contradict it? is that too much to ask?

We all step over the mark sometimes, there's a lot of ego floating about this place and it clashes often. Slappy, you're one of the most common culprits of this so stop trying to act like you're above it.

Also, I'm not above anything. Sometimes you need somebody to step in and tell you what this is becoming, 'cause you don't need back and forth arguments that don't just move to PM. I, of all people, should know first hand that you need someone to do it. Relax, bro.
