How on earth did an N-art map make this catagory?
Surely a Tileset is something a playable map can be made out of, no?

And to those users who did complain, and you know who you are, you didn't submit any nominations, so you have no room to complain.
That said, get your votes if you haven't! Voting closes on 30th December.

I didn't submit any nominations because from experience of last year and the year before, the Dronies are pretty much forum and IRC controlled. Considering I don't really use either, all but one of my nominations wouldn't have made the overall list.lord_day wrote:...you didn't submit any nominations, so you have no room to complain.
The only one of these nominations I actually agree with is astheoceansblue for Mapmaker of the Year.

Any tileset can be made playable with a few edits. That's the entire point of them. They're starting blocks to work with, not absolute, making slight edits is all part of the process to making it fit to your personal vision.SkyPanda wrote:Amlt makes a very good point- playability is something that tilesets have traditionally been judged on. That said, the dronies don't specify criteria, people nominate and vote on their own criteria. There's no need to be disrespecting a fair comment on the way maps are judged, its just the time and place to bring it up is a little awkward.
I have to edit almost every tileset I use to make it work for my specific vision. Anyway, I only removed around 8 tiles to produce a playable map from the tileset in question, that's hardly a deviation worth getting in a huff about.

Wait, what? That makes no sense. Skyline and I control the Dronies, and the maps with the most nominations go through to the voting stage. It has nothing to do with whether or not you use IRC or the forumsamomentlikethis wrote: I didn't submit any nominations because from experience of last year and the year before, the Dronies are pretty much forum and IRC controlled. Player 1: I haven't nominated any maps yet.
Player 2: I nominated these maps: *list*.
Player 1: Oh wow, I like those maps, I'm going to nominate all the same xD
Forum situation -
Player 1: I nominated these maps: *list*.
Player 2: Ha, those were cool, I nominated some of those too!
Not using IRC/Forum situation -
Player 1: *Nominates*.
Everyone else: *Nominates maps heavily based on other nominations as above*.
Player 1: Oh look, none of my maps got through. I wonder why...

Dronies used to be heavily controlled by the Top Rated maps as well, but that hasn't really been possible this year.

I'm begging you please, here, Amlt, please stop being a massive cuntdouche to the community. Don't generalise the good peoples of the IRC, and don't pretend you're better than all of them.

No one likes a whiner. You could've well approached this entire couple of days from a whole other direction which wouldn't have gotten the entire forum on your back.

Time spent does not automatically equate to respect due.
