Amen. To be fair, though, every now and then a real, red-blooded ded comes along and reminds what such things really are. It's an arbitrary division, though. The categories there for a fair playing field for truly different maps, not for what people put in the description. If it was, there'd be a Best Song Lyric category. But that would be stupid. Because why separate it because it has Three Doors Down instead of an explanation of its three hidden door switches?

Point taken. Although, the assertion that deds haven't meant anything in years is a sad commentary in and of itself. I guess people just throw them around now.

What about the best Hold Right and Hold Left DDA's?
Nobody makes em, but heck, with all the catergories, I'm sure we could find /some/ place to put them in.

In the realm of actual nominations, I am gonna say PRIDE for best levelpack.

I believe right now we're just indulging in nomination persuasion, not actual nominations. The nominations are apparently being done via website this year. Another reason why sidke should win the Person of the Year award or whatever.

I am really looking forward to this. I joined last year at the end of december, so i missed pratically the entire dronie awards this year. Im really interested in this!

I can't see the list right now, but the last idea of "rookie of the year" is a good one

You? Your not a rookie. Your an experianced mapmaker.

He wasn't pointing to himself... I guess. He was talking about the upcoming authors we have, that have joined in the year, or at least became recognized in it. I second this idea.

I know I am not a rookie... duh, I've been mapping for almost a year. But I think that award, given to new map makers, will be a good idea, as it opens the whole dronie awards to all categories, and not at the biggest and the best map makers as pointed earlier:

That rookie mapmaker thing could get subjective. But I think Techno had a good idea. We do need some new categories, as NUMA's changed a bit. Best Review is a good example of that.

Simple challenges are probably too short and too similar to each other for awarding one a Dronie. But flagmyidol's best review idea is great, too!

Well, we can't say we do. But we all want to in our hearts.

And for the DDAs: Not enough near good ones are made. Seriously, in the last year, I've seen 3 good DDAs made. Shortage. The mappers that were best at them have left. And the race catergory is fading too... has bunniesandsheep left yet?

Then surely one of those three has a nice chance at winning, right? I know a few that can win.

Level pack of the year has to be OUTER DX, by DW40. It is absolutely stunnning.

Other than that, looking forward to the awards. I joined too late to experience this last year :/

no offence to DW, but...

Everyone is forgetting about MRDR. ;__;

On a side note, can't wait to get this started! Having a nominations site sounds like an awesome idea. :D
