What makes you specifically remember someone?

I'm curious. I don't pay that much attention to the forum faces, but there are a select few can pick out of a crowd and say 'Hey, it's (Name). That's pretty (Adjective).'

People like aperture, who I deem a friend, people like Tsukatu, who I deem an opposite (no offense), and people like GTM, who I deem an over-poster.

You know, the ones who you know a bit more distinguishing facts about than just 'Hey, it's (Name)'

So what makes people more recognizable to you personally?

Actually I have a pretty good memory and I believe it to be directly proportional to how much information about a person I have processed. *beep*

EDIT: Beep Bop Bo Beep... Spellchecker flawed in which I spell a word properly but it's the wrong word!

I don't care about anyone who doesn't come on IRC.

I actually do this with people I've met in person, specifically with their faces. There is a tiny part of me that's convinced I'm living in a video game because I see recycled facial structures all around me.

Well, if someone's odd, then I'll remember them. Sort of like me. Something that stands out which I remember.

Or if I tell myself I need to remember someone, I generally will.

It's hard to remember someone who hasn't used IRC or Ventrilo and made themselves known in the community through those venues. To get remembered otherwise, you gotta make something worthwhile that everyone notices.

Pretty much the same as him; I also remember people who PM me; especially when it's for something awkward and out of place.

Ah, so that's why you had absolutely no idea who I was before I first came on Vent. :P

IRC? Eww, my browser can't process that prefix.

Like It could do:

http://irc.net/

But not:

irc://irc.net/

Does firefox work for these?

When I meet someone, there is usually some defining feature (or oddity) that I'll remember them by.

Everyone around me is a palette shift of FF3 monsters.

So your coworkers look exactly like your classmates from 1st grade, but with darker and deeper shades of red?
Badass.
