Same goes for 'Moderator' and 'Legacy Elite'. You know who you guys are. I get confused whenever I see one of these buttons on a user who I don't remember ever being an administrator (or moderator, etc.). Please, it's annoying and not cool at all.

If you see this, please notify a real admin so they can remove the offending avatar.

I think there's only one user with this avatar? Regardless, the first time was/is original and quite amusing, and it's really not difficult to distinguish what is an avatar and what's an actual badge.

This is such a tiny community, close knit and generally warmer than most, sometimes we act like we're bigger than we are and come down too harshly on pranks and whatnot. It's not like we have such massive activity that we need to be so strict about things is it?

I agree with atob. There are so many quick ways to tell if a user is part of a special group or not, that I don't think it really matters if they have fake buttons in their avatar.

I've noticed at least three, but there may be more.

New people might not be familiar with these ways, though, so to prevent confusion it's really best if you don't do it. It's not like we're going to ban everyone who did this or anything - I'm just saying you've had your joke, and can you please revert your avatar to avoid confusion?

Well, if it's more than one user then I'd agree. Joke would be old and confusion might be had. Fair enough.

Really, is it that hard to just look at the name color and/or title?

Explorer? Is that another joke or is there actually a new group caled the explorers.

That's what I was thinking at first, confusing kind of. I was going to have one of those patches as my avvy but I though against it for that same reason. Confusing, very confusing.

It's a creation, since Explorer would be assigned to somebody with the custom title "Explorer".

Seriously, though, it's fine. Everything under the sea related to this doesn't matter. We're a community of like, what, 100 regular users, and a bunch of side characters? A tenth of us are admins, mods, legacy elite... If you can't keep track of who the mods are, you probably don't need much from them.

Hmm, 100 users. Metanet should go largeererer scale. That would be cool. And hectic. And more cases of people doing things like faking mod pathes in their avvies. Oh well, dream the dreams.

Yeah, also, the colour of their names is a dead giveaway as to whether they're real or not.

That's true. Personally, I thought yours was kind of neat, but I had to look twice to figure out it wasn't a status or something. Goes nicely with the avatar though.
