Hi,
Can someone make N to ipod touch/iphone with apple SDK? This would be great. I would do that but i didn*t have an apple pc.
This thread is also for ideas and suggestion.
I think for the Movement:
Three parts of the Display= left, right, jump
Like this:
|---O---|
|-O--O-|

xD i hope you know what i mean

To be honest it would be uncomfortable pushing buttons that are so close to each other every few milliseconds, and could get very tiring.

It would be sweet if they figured out a way to do this though. Maybe tilt to go left and right, and tap to jump.

Yeah, but with the craziness in race levels and what not it would be hard to see and insanely hard.
Another problem is the userlevels. How would you make them?

Wouldn't that be not so difficult to implement with the touchscreen?
I'm not sure if the iTouch would be able to run it smoothly and with a good enough resolution, but considering that there's N+ for the DS, I think it could work, though I'm not sure if the result would be worth the effort.

I second that, though I also agree that it would be pretty cool. It would just be a bit hard to see with only one screen.

Nobody is saying this will replace N. It would just be a cool app.

The Movement could also like "Archibalds Adventure" . (app)
the control-feeling is very good and easy.

I doesn't think that an Editor is manageable but i hope you will be able to load maps from NUMA ( http://nmaps.net ) or add some levels by connecting the ipod with the pc.

For the overview:
e.g.: a minimap in one corner and the Rest is hightened and zoom in on the ninja.

Cool app,but they can make the game simpler, and with more basic controls, otherwise it would be insanely hard to control it.

Let's only make the ninja move only left and right. Oh, and let's have floorguards as the only enemy.

It's not a bad idea, actually. How would you wall jump, though? You could have the up/left/right arrows tucked in some corner, but the iTouch screens aren't the biggest thing around. The only other practical way I can think up is motion-sensor style (tilting the iTouch left to go left, right for right, up to jump, and when you're on the wall, tap the screen to wall jump), but that'd be a bit inaccurate (if not uncomfortable, even though I've seen many games that utilize this concept).

Editing maps may become a bit sticky because of finger movement (the only reason I don't want an iTouch is because it doesn't have a stylus/stylus attachment with it, and my fingers are very clumsy. I mean, yeah, pressing the occasional button is easy, but when you need very detailed results, It's just not good, like, oh, say, the DS version. *cough*).

Userlevels will be ridiculously difficult to copy and paste due to my previous point, and I have no idea how you could save said levels (unless it's done like on the console versions, then that would solve everything).

All in all, it's a pretty difficult concept to try and do, but if done correctly, I think it could cause some awesome things to happen.

I think it would be epic if you could get really good at the tilting controls and then just move your wrist to be able to complete the level. Also, I think that if this is done, it should have new levels from a comp or off numa, not the original columns.

Yeah maybe using the accelerometer to control left/right movement, or a choice of control schemes would work well here.

It seems arkward, but it may work, we will see.

But we need someone who could and want to do that.
I think he could earn a lot of money because it is an awesome game ^^

Well whoever develops it will probably get into contact with Metanet and they would get a share of the income, which is fair enough considering it's their game.

For those saying that it would be hard to see the screen, remember that N+ managed to succeed on the PSP and DS.

Yeah, but the controls weren't on top of the screen.

Yeah, but the controls weren't on top of the screen.
Then why not use the previously suggested idea of tilting the screen to move?

It would be difficult to code N in Objective C.

You know, you might draw tilesets with your finger and NED will choose tiles that best fit the shape you've drawn. Objects can be dragged into the map from a palette.

Hmmm, that would be an interesting idea even for NReality, however it might be a little hard still because it falls under GUI coding, which Unreality seems a bit hesitant to do.

Brainwave; you could use the position of your finger on the screen. So if you hold your finger down to the left of the ninja, it would go that way, and to jump, you simply move your finger up the screen.

It would be exteremely hard to do tilesets.
Instead of that, when you are in ned, ned would slice map into squares, and when you touch a square, it would show you the tilesets you can put there. And just click the tileset you want to make it.
