Looking to work on a style for the forums?

Making a style comes in three steps: the templates, the themes, and the imageset.

In your User CP, you should be able to switch between the already-installed themes on the forum.

If you go here, you can download sample styles to view their templates, themes, and imagesets and get an idea on how to do one of your own: http://www.phpbb3styles.net/

A template set comprises all the markup used to generate the layout of the board. It's usually possible just to import a set of templates from an existing style in order to make your own. The themes are mostly just the stylesheet.css used by the style you've created. This css file will tell what colors and images are applied to the templates of the board. The imageset includes the reference images used by the themes.

I'm eager to see if anyone wants to work on a style for the forums. If you want to work on one, it might be best to say so here and it's a good idea to work together. It's a rather extensive procedure and it requires both skilled coders and skilled image makers.

I wish to be the imager if anyone wants to try a new style.

What's a minipost?

Count me in, I might need help with the coding though.

I'd like to make an MS Paint style, but I don't know how to do coding, or even whether or not people here would like to see a style off of paint.

I can make buttons and headers if you want me to.

Chase, I love it. Those are awesome.

I don't think there's enough of a difference between the "new posts" and "no new posts" variations of those icons, Chase. But awesome designs anyway.

I know, it's too big.

The only thing I don't like about those ones, chase, is the size. They just all look a little too small and squashed.

Yeah, they could be a tiny bit bigger... but they look awesome.

So if I attempted to re-do these in 32x32 would that look alright?
